Hi Sherry, Thanks for all the info, but actually I was up all night did a lot of research. It seems as though they were having trouble breathing. Something in the water was not allowing the water to retain oxygen. That is why they were swimming sideways at the top trying to get oxygen in the gills, but now after 4 water changes that night, and removing the tank top, keeping the temperature cool and leaving our fan on the whole time in that room, they are okay. I am really happy I didn't give up! They are swimming happy now :)

mice got in, nested, ate the foundations they could reach, peed etc all winter and left it looking and smelling intensely foul. Bees hate mouse smell. In my case, it drove them out and into the adjacent hive where an attractive queen was letting her pherimones (sp) into the air. Fortunately, they didn't fly away, but went next door. We 'split' what was a now a double colony in one hive, and started the renegades with a new queeen. Don't ask me, really; at that point Iwas just following directions! Marie

yes I am very irritated about the water change, we live in a small community, all using the same well, no problems, then the city comes through with their pipes and we either go to city water now or have to pay a very hefty fee to cut into the lines later on, bummer! I took Gizmo to the vet Friday to have his nails clipped, his weight checked (he weighs 10lbs, needs at least another 2lbs in order to be a healthy weight) and his you know what emptied, and I asked him about his eyes, they get brown where it is normally white when he gets home from travelling with me, I thought it was just being tired but the vet said he may be getting a little dehydrated, mom don't have a tub just a shower, so I am going to have to make sure to remember to give him fresh water as soon as we get there, and then keep refilling it for him every few hours (he DEFINITLY won't drink after her two dogs) lostnca, that is so funny, we call Gizmo a prissy dog but my Neighbors have a Maltese and that dog takes the cake! she even eats from the table from her own dish, they take her to a doggy daycare center just so she can play with the other dogs and they get her groomed once a week, love the pink bows in her 'ponytail'! I have tried to pull Gizmos hair up in a ponytail but he won't have none of it, I will get him all fixed up and then next time I see him he will look like cousin It, so now I have gave up and I just keep the hair trimmed so it stays out of his eyes:)

Hi, I also agree that there is nothing really to worry about the new attention or interest. Parents who abandon their kids live with guilt, and his action may actually be driven more by the guilt and trying hard "to make up" for what he has lost. Also, does he have any other older or younger daughter. If not, then that is also another factor. Men generally tend to dote on their daughters, hence the stronger attention. Given that you are currently going through some marital problems and going through counseling, you might naturally find the renewed attention concerning (because you might think he now has a new love interest, possibly replacing his interest in you), hence the natural tendency to be concerned about this. Indeed, he might find the contact with the daughter a convenient, though unjustifiable, diversion from the marital problems. Re secret phone calls, how do you define secret ? Does he talk to her in your presence? Are you included in the conversation? Does he hand you the phone to say hello with the daughter? I would agree though that there is a difference between expressing parental love and seeming flirtations. And if indeed, some of his actions can be considered flirtatious, then there is concern. Try talking to him. Don't push, but try to see if you all can enjoy some activities together. See if you can invite the daughter home and watch their actions/reactions. All the best - DrPax
