odd behavior?

i have a bb nesting with 4 eggs, due to hatch a week from today. i have been watching for the past couple of hours. both birds are all over the deck and the nest box, wing waving like crazy. i put a few freeze dried mealworms on the deck railing and the female ate like she was starving (which i know she isn't, he feeds her constantly).

the nest box has a sparrow spooker that the blues pay absolutely no attention to other than to sit on it and peck at the mylar streamers.

i have not once seen her enter the box yet today. he has gone inside several times and while he's in there, she flutters all around the entrance hole. i opened the box to check for wasps, ants, etc., and there is nothing amiss. the eggs are all intact.

what on earth would make them behave this way???
