It sure is Lisa! It is going to be 60 and sunny here tomorrow! And my blues are finally back at it! I saw the male perched multiple times on one of the boxes of my pair. On the opposite box was a TRES. No fighting! They appear to have their boxes chosen and standing guard! And Mrs. Blue is getting closer and closer to that box! I have HOSP to trap tomorrow (Neighbor's PUMA house and boxes at other trail...80 on sunday! 50's and 60's next week. Is this NOT the PERFECT forecast for nest building?! Seeing the blues so much more active, a beautiful forecast, some things to do, having the TRES...I am SO excited! There's much more to happen in the coming weeks with nest building, hummingbirds returning, trees blooming...it's gray now but full fledged spring is on its way! And I sure can't wait! I just LOVE spring and summer! My boxes are so out in the open though that I've never had Dees...they are nice birds. But I absolutely love those beautiful insect eating Bluebirds, Swallows, and Martins! It reminds you that the battle vs. the HOSP MUST go on! Good luck Lisa! My TRES have been here for 2 weeks. They survived the monsoon, the snow and have claimed a box :) No building yet. I don't know if you saw my post, but a hosp. killed my male bb BEFORE any building, nest box claiming. I was so shocked. I went to put the trap on because a female hosp. had been sitting on the box and then I found him. Cried my eyes out and I haven't seen a bb since. I took out 2 hosp. so the tres will be safe. I think they got the message..don't come in my yard. I have not seen them back here.

I enjoyed reading this tonight after a very busy weekend and want to thank you so much for sharing this. Your birding experiences are so interesting. I loved seeing the little bluebird finally make the leap in the movie and all of your photos are so incredible. Poor little mama bluebird with the hurt leg. I sure hope it heals correctly enough for her to get use from it. She is very unique in appearance and I wonder if any of her babies will look like her. Please keep us posted if you see any resemblance. The high winds have been so hard on our little birds this year.

I like it! The room looks so inviting and almost has a library feel to it. Window treatments are not my forte, so I'm no help there. I tend to have very simple things, like your current blinds. Maybe look at roman shades that use bamboo or natural material and wide enough to cover the whole window instead of the two sets. If you get them lined, you won't see the shadow of the casement through them when they are down. Didn't you mention liking botanical prints in the other thread? You could hang 9 on that wall behind the recliners. Or, you could put up 3 shelves, staggered, to hold a variety of items. A large oil landscape would look nice there, as well. I would put a tall plant behind the recliner closest to the window. And probably another in front of the outlet by the other recliner. Put the big chair pillow on the recliner closest to the fireplace, and get a new one for the chair that picks up the couch color. You worked so hard! Great job! Does DH like the new recliners?
