I've looked in quite a few times now and haven't seen any, did they move out? Hope not, i would love to watch them.

she didn't sleep there last night, but I saw her working on the nest yesterday.. it's hard to catch any activity. But once the chicks arrive it will be loads of fun.. hopefully it gets that far. I THINK a webcam is in for my mom's day or bday.. keep your fingers crossed! IF I get one, I'll have to figure out how to do streaming video.. Calls HUBBY!!! LOL! Sandra

Thank you Renee - did you look at them? I am surprised how much they move around the first day - I expected them to be pretty still until the food arrived.... someone is always squirming around and disturbing the other and then they move, etc. etc. I have to *make* myself leave and go do laundry - I could watch them for hours :)

Well the kids behaved while I was gone and everybody is still in there. We have lots more wing flapping going on , poor guys have to duck when someone goes to flapping, don't want to get a wing in the eye! There have been one or two that have finally decided to go see what may be out there. Nobody has been brave enough to stick their heads out , but maybe it's because whoever they are standing on is squacking get off get off! Two of them have also learned that there is no reason to push and shove to be at the front of the box when Joe Daddy comes with food....it's much simpler to hang out in back and jump on top of someone in front to get the bug! LOL. The parents are not trying to call them out yet so I expect they will go tomorrow. This time I am NOT getting up at 6:30. Last time I did and nobody was awake. Pop was up around 8 and Hussy Moma didnt even show up until sometime after nine. Boy it's going to be quiet when they are gone. :(

No nestcams or roosting boxes here, Ann, but the nest cam idea is one I'm hoping to implement on one of my nestboxes this spring. As for roosting, I do know that at least 2 of the 4 boxes I have here at the house are being used by the blues for roosting. In fact, in one of the boxes the female has actually built a small nest--not just pine needles on the floor but an actual nest that's about 4 or 5 inches tall! I removed the last nest at the end of nesting season and she built this one at the end of October/beginning of November. Oh well, whatever it takes to keep them warm. Kathy

I see her building her nest today. Is this a regular webcam, and how do you hook it up? are there wires from the box? If I got some, I'd love to do this!. thanks for posting this!!

I searched for bluebird nestcams and found this one..here is the link to the website. this has a little more info .. I would have to learn a bunch to figure out how to get one working.. but it would be fun.

Suggestion: I keep the birdcam window up, and just resize all my other computer program windows so I any activity will catch my eye. Every once in a while I have to hit F5 to refresh it.. I've seen her in there this morning. IT seems like most nest building happens in the morning. Hard work I guess, then they need the rest of the day to rest and feed..

FIRST EGG!! I'm also watching the cardinal nest cam.. wonder how they did THAT? ...3 eggs for her.. one stolen by a cowbird... I'll have to look into providing nesting for cardinals too.. I bet it's tough in bushes and on the ground!

Thank you so much for putting this web cam up. I have really enjoyed watching the mother bird laying her eggs. This is something that we never get to see. I am so excited about watching the eggs turn into blues. I had 5 beautiful eggs that were about to hatch and a HOSP decided that he wanted to rob the nest. I have never had this happen to me. All I could do was cry and hope and pray that I will have babies sometime this year. Good luck with this family!!
