Too Cute!!!I love those little owls. The only time one came to my yard this year was when my daughter had my camera. Boo Hoo.

Oh gosh Liz. What an ADORABLE little bird. You just wanna hug it! I never get to see owls in the wild. Fantastic shots!! Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks! Yesterday I had the large Insectlore pop-up outside as I was transferring Painted Ladies into it with a Lavatera maritima plant (I had one with a Cheeseweed but the PLs didn't seem to care for that plant). Cheli watched me move the PLs from one pop-up to the other and was quite interested in the entire process. The butterflies stayed outside all day (it was a gorgeous day-in the 80s) as I was hoping for some amorous behavior on their part (my Kindergartners are hoping for eggs). Later in the afternoon I looked over and there was Chelsea, sitting in front of the pop-up. She was intently watching those butterflies flying around. She tried to 'paw' at one so I said, "Chelsea, you have to be gentle! Kisses only!" I watched to see what she'd do. She started LICKING the netting. LOL I bet those PLs wondered, "What the heck?"

Hello Gardengal, Nckvilledudes, Buyorsell and everyone. I loved the Yukiokoshi. It is a stunner. I really admire the petal formation. Since we're sharing... I just came back from picking up two more Clems that I have been wanting for quite a while. I bought Josephine (evijohill) and Arctic Queen (Evitwo)! I am very excited about these new additions. I will be clearing out some japanese iris to make room for them on the trellis. I love the fall sales, they were marked down 30%. I was very pleasantly surprised to find them at my local nursery. I was just getting ready to make the leap and order online.

Oh Julius HATES wearing clothes. He prefers naked, even collarless. I'm surprised they even got this on him! His daddy says his name should be changed to Gorton. Yes, I love my grandpets tremendously. The other day I stopped in at DS's house to check on his girlfriend, poor dear is terribly sick. Ruphus was so excited and ran to the door then back to me. I asked if he does this for everyone and she said no, he never does, only me. Their cats do the same thing! We've pretty much resigned ourselves to not having grandkids for a LOOOOONG time, so we spoil the grandpets.

Beautiful photos! Pictures are looking even better since I had to have to get a new motherboard for this desktop and it's got better onboard video. :)

And what a cute little owl. Did the home-owner allow you to come over and get photos? How did you find out about it? (I am curious, only if it's not TMI.)

I heard about it on our local birding email list. The homeowner was very generous in letting people come over and see it. For many people it was a life bird. They're usually hard to see because of their small size and because they aren't often seen out in the open. So it was fun to get this opportunity very close to home. Now if only it would fly a few miles to my house so I could get a cool new yard bird!
