Nest Box Material

I have been trying to attract bluebirds for 4 years. I have several boxes that I built from bluebird plans, one purchased box from Coveside, and others copied from Coveside. The Coveside box is constructed from pine but I used cedar material for the boxes that I built thinking that would be more durable from the weather. The only success I have had has been in the Coveside box and now I wonder if the cedar material is offensive to the birds. I wonder if exterior plywood would be OK to use or if the glue in the material would be detrimental to the birds.
I went to clean out my boxes a month ago to get them ready for the spring activity and found one already had three babies. I watched them until the fledglings left home and cleaned out that nest. they came back to rebuild and now have four new eggs. How long after laying will the eggs be hatched.
