Take into consideration all of your existing fixed elements like cabinets, trim, etc. I’d steer you away from those grey floors regardless of the size of your house if you have any natural wood stained trim or cabinets.

Perhaps I wasnt clear. I'm looking for layout suggestions because Im aware that I need to add countertop and cabinents. L or galley? I like this color, I'm not repainting. Kind of pointless to add a backsplash when money needs to be spent on cabinets. no? The color is not an issue it's the lack of cabinets and countertops. Pantry cabinets to the left of the fridge would extend into the doorway. So you would turn into the kitchen and into the side of cabinetry? I'll add additional images with measurements. Currently there is a double sink and the plans reflect a single sink. Yes the stainless appliances are the new pictures.

I actually like the white walls! The thing that’s probably feeling off is that there isn’t any contrast. I would paint the doors and light cans black, update the fan, and paint the cabinets green (dark or mid-tone) that pulls in the colour from the beautiful scenery. Pulling colour into your cabinetry will ground your home and keep your kitchen from feeling lost in the space while overall maintaining a light and airy feel. Then tie in the green in the living room space with some throw pillows/blankets, art, or other accessories.

Thank you, Diana--I will try that. The front door will be the two double doors. We do not have a proper foyer and will mostly enter through the garage/mudroom. The house will be used by my husband and myself--and occasionally our adult children. We don't plan on hosting large gatherings. Our HOA allows one main house and one guest house (guest house can not exceed 1400 sq ft of finished space). We are building what we can manage right now--the guest house/cabin and plan to use it for weekend skiing and summer getaways. We wanted one guest room for occasional visitors and one "flex" room/den that can serve as a home office or reading room. The front of the house and the wall with fireplace have very pretty views--so we tried to capitalize on that with windows and a wrap around porch. The garage side of the house and the back of the house is wooded (no views). We wanted a larger garage to accommodate outdoor equipment and recreational things. I appreciate all the great feedback.
