Hmmm, hate to be the dissenter……. Fortunei A seems to have have a more lance shaped leaf and lighter in color with distinct veins. This pic is taken through a window screen because it’s raining (finally) so it may appear a bit fuzzy. debra

Thanks, ladies. That was my opinion, as well. but I'd only ever seen it growing out of old cracks and forming dense mats, as in the pic. I wonder how it got there. I haven't seen any locally. It's apparent loci would be consistant with having been in with the medium it came in, but can it propagate from bits of roots after 3-4 years? Can't see that.

What had me so confused it that the leaves of Sherwood Blue Woodland Phlox change shape and texture. They went from the low growing thick leaves to thin and hairy leaves...total change in appearance. I found this info below to confirm what was confusing me on this ID. It may be of interest to other gardeners: "Yes, the leaves of 'Sherwood Blue' Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata) change in both appearance and, to some extent, texture throughout the growing season, primarily due to the plant's production of two different types of shoots. There are numerous Sempervivums but the webbing points to S arachnoideum.
