As to GBH, fantastic bird! Love these! I see one occasionally on my 1.6 acre rural property near my creek (obviously) but have never had the camera with me at the time.

I did catch one on film a few years ago sitting atop my neighbour's shed. Absolutely stunning creatures!

When in Florida, walking along the beach, they are so used to people, I could walk right up to it - about 5 feet away to take pics. Love these majestic birds!

I have a large creek that runs through my property and occasionally they look for fish there.

I was walking back to the house last summer after closing up my chickens, and there, sitting on our TV antenna was a GBH! Didn't have my camera, but wow........

Oh.....and I have a little watergarden in my back yard. One time I came home from shopping and one was perched on the house, looking down at the watergarden. I don't have fish.....but do have frogs and snakes. It's always hard to know who to root for!

My Feral Forest site is all for fun. My current hobby is wild plant photography and identification, even though I'm not very good at it yet.

Marc......are you posting any of those plant pics on another forum here? I'd love to see them. Ever since we got an electric raised golf cart, I have delighted in finding new wild plants.
One of the biggest surprises was several big stands of wild ginger. .......oh, and casmassia.

I had planted a jack-in-the-pulpit something like 20 years ago. I thought it had never grown. Last summer, I went to plant another one, and something caught my eye.........it was a 2' tall jack-in-the-pulpit! I was so excited I almost burst!

I'm never going to tire of exploring and appreciating nature!
