Blue Heron Problem

Hello-I just found your forum-please forgive me if this has been answered before.

We have had a blue heron problem for years. They eat our goldfish and koi (they fly away with very large fish) and they spear some and leave them to die at the side of the pond.

I have tried the scarecrow contraption that you hook up to a garden hose and it did not deter them. And the scarecrow was $100. We have resorted to covering the pond with netting that my husband brought from the golf course that they use to hang next to the road to keep cars from being hit. It droops down into the water and gets covered with hair algea and is quite a problem. It ruins the look of the pond and for the last few years we have not been enjoying our pond because of the net.

Has anyone discovered a blue heron deterrant? I need help!!!
