Very few birds

When I lived at my folks, we had tons of birds. I moved to my apt. in Wisconsin & I attracted a good variety & number of birds there too! We just got a house & I set up my feeders, and not that many birds. I put up the feeders after we moved in June. We actually got a lot of hummingbird activity right away, which is really exciting. I got goldfinches to the thistle feeders, but as far as seed feeding birds otherwise, not much of anything.

If anything I get house finches & some mourning doves. I think last year I saw cardinals & chickadees only twice. I had a blue jay come a couple months ago only once. I have had regular red breasted nuthatch visitors, but other that that I haven't really seen much of any bird activity at all, and practically nothing this winter other than the nuthatches.

I use good food. I have a mix of black oil, peanuts, safflower. I also have thistle & suet. Right now I am using 2 platform feeders & a hanging hopper feeder as that is all I have at the moment. How can I get more birds?

I was wondering if maybe because we live in a newer subdivision, maybe it is just over 10 years old. We have a couple trees, but they aren't full grown adult trees yet. Maybe give it a couple more years. We also have a wooded forest across the street. Do you think they need more shrubbery & established trees first?

I am showing some photos of our yard.
