Cat's + Bluebirds = missing bluebirds

No matter what people tell you bluebirds are like steak
to a cat. So if you own a cat and have bluebirds if the
parent bluebird become missing or eggs never hatch
you have just allowed that pair to fail. And cost the species
a complete failure. I cannot tell you over the years how many nest box's in prime locations fail because of cats
I have since learned and relocated box's Please dont
set your bluebirds to fail if anyone within a 1/2 of a mile your nest box has a cat remove that box now or other wise your not helping bluebirds. Every box should have a predator
guard on it and box's deep so cat or coon cannot reach in
and grap the birds. Use Thin conduit pipe will keep down most predators. I used noel wire and have never
lost a chicks or egg. If cats are around please relocate
your box to a cat free location. ---Ray
