Tree Swallows r in Michigan

Saw one sitting on the sparrow spooker frame :) they pretty much can have any box they want. Since my dad bb was killed and mom left...I have 5 open boxes. Hope the weather stays warm 4 them.

They got here April 11th last year. I spotted Pheobies and Vieros today! The Cowbirds and Vultures have been here a few days also! I LOVE spring (except for HOSPs)

I love spring too!!! I had a male bb taking a bath in the stream yesterday. I was hoping he would stay but he flew off. No sightings of other birds yet.

I did get lost in it! It was huge! about 200 packets! I will get it out in the mail today or Wends. Today if I hear from you sue per our emails.... Thanks for including me in this it was LOTS of fun. I have never tried hardly any types of annuals before - but I have a garden walk scheduled and hope they really brighten up my yard. I will be trying lots of them this year thanks to your help. Thanks for showing me the way to affordable gardening. I am a new seed addict now. Have 9 flats going now and I ran out of room, but not seeds. Trying to talk hubby into building me a coldframe for my birthday next month so I can start more seeds. thanks again

I've had a TRES here since Saturday the 17th, in Central WI. Monday there were two but now we are back to one again. It isn't doing much house hunting yet, just hanging around. Will be the first year the Blues (that are house hunting already) will get their choice of nestboxes cause normally the TRES are here first. Lisa, I am messing with two friggin male HOSP, got one with the BB gun yesterday but I missed the other one this morning, feathers flew but he flew away just fine. Have the vanert set for him now as he was in a box just a bit ago. Ugh! Donna

Spring is here all right! Have baby Robins all around here in Ohio. First hummingbird this morning! Blues are sitting on 5 eggs. Same for Tree Swallows. We got a heat wave coming! Gonna be close to 90 by Thursday. Good luck with the babies! Wish I had them already! ~Tim~

Our TRES returned earlier this week, I think Tuesday. Yesterday a pair of Blues started house hunting, checking all the boxes. Apparently one of the TRES pairs has made thier decision on a nestbox already as there was a big fight this morning between the Blues and the TRES when the male Bluebird approached this nestbox. One of the TRES took him to the ground, the female Bluebird came to see what was going on and the other TRES attacked her. The TRES returned to the nestbox and the Blues to a tree nearby. The Blues did not try to go back to that nestbox but have been checking out a few others on the other side of the yard now. They have plenty boxes to choose from right now, until all the TRES return that is, they get kinda thick around here.
