hello, you guys seem really well informed.. i have two female guppies who are both prego. i have a white female (whity) and a bigger blue female (big mama). Whity, this is her first batch, seems ready to give birth any minute just because i can see the baby eye moving down, square belly, but when i put her in the breeder nothing happens for a 2 days. i let her out between for exceres and she seems still socail and playful. whats her deal? and with Big Mama she is big already and always seem ready to pop lol, but realilitcally she has a black G spot and is hiding from the others, and hasnt quite spuard off yet but its starting to. can you help me figure out what to do

This year my bluebirds are building right near the worm feeder but I haven't seen them eat a single worm. Other birds are eating them but there are plenty for all. I hope they start eating the worms when the babies arrive. Here is a link that might be useful: garden tips ,birding and art articles

Sounds like time well spent. Now let's hope that House Wren stays away. You haven't gone off the edge, just dedicated and doing the best you can. We have to make sure they accept the changes we make. Most of them learn pretty quickly. They do teach one another. I love to share this story from my backyard: An older female (with us for years) took a young male, probably his first adult year, as her new mate after her mate was lost. The nest was complete with eggs, and they both knew how to use the mealworm feeder. Evidently, he was ready to feed the youngsters already and kept taking beakfuls of mealworms to the nestbox, and dropping them on the eggs! Well, each time he did that, she would follow him, retrieve the mealworms from among the eggs, and return to the feeder to feed HIM! It was priceless. Eventually, he got the idea, and fed her. Many of us have seen their courting behavior, when the male feeds the female as she begs like a fledgling, wings all fluttering. But this was a first for me! BlueBars

blumz, sometimes bluebirds do "change partners". Nothing you can do about that~ Is there any chance you could put another nestbox up on the other side of your house, so that these pairs won't see eachother? I have bluebirds nesting in my front yard, and another pair in the back yard. Technically, the boxes are no where near far enough apart - BUT, they can't see eachother and are on different nesting schedules and things have worked out fine. The front yard pair is currently laying their second clutch of eggs after having a fledging of four babies two weeks ago. The back yard pair has 5 eggs that should hatch any day now. They fledged 5 kids the week before the front yard kids flew. I feed them in different areas and they each have their own bath, so their paths don't cross too often. My house keeps them from seeing eachother, though each definitely knows the other is there and they do get nosy and go visiting once in a while! I am wondering if soon, when the next rounds of babies are keeping the adults busy, if the first broods of kids will just join up and be one group of teenagers. Right now they stay separated and eat only at the feeding stations their parents eat from. I hope you can find a way to work this out so everyone can nest. It will soon be over and they can play nice with eachother again! Malinda
