Hi... The symptoms you have described here are related to the input water pressure into your line regulator being to high. When this occurs the regulator runs out of dynamic range and will produce and output pressure a few PSI below that of the input. To properly select a line regulator you have to work backward from the drip line to the input source. Once the input flow rate exceeds the capacity of the drip line the line pressure will begin to rise proportionally toward the level of the input pressure. The regulator is meant to 'match' the two pressures but they must be within the capability/range of the regulator's dynamic range. You mentioned that your non adjustable regulator was meant to produce an output of 20PSI when the input is 25PSI. This indicates that there is only 5PSI of dynamic range available which is not very much. Determine the GPM rating of your drip line and note the pressure value that this level has been specified at and then add 5PSI to it. This will tell you the maximum input PSI you can have with that regulator. Where you already have two regulators you may connect them in series and rather than using 5PSI use the sum of the two but in the end the input pressure cannot exceed the total sum of the regulators and drip line value. If it does you have to used a different regulator and I would suggest using one with a variable output so that you can dial in the right pressure for your set up

Dave, you're saying they didn't keep you over night in the hospital for observation? IDK, I would like to be given the option of whether to go to the ER or not. When Charlie fell they did not call me, they called his work who then gave me minimum information, then I had to figure out what hospital he was in, it was in another state. By the time I looked up the town, then called 15 numbers, it was late. I was able to speak to Charlie in the ER then the doctor who said he seemed fine, they'd give him morphine, then probably release him the next day. Charlie told me to stay home, deal with getting his tractor trailer home the next morning, then to come up. Took me 2 or 3 hours of phone calls starting at 7 am but I did it. I would have loved to go the night before but it would have been almost a 2 hour ride in the dark; I don't drive more then 45 minutes away tops because of my back. Did Deb swat you with a rose cane when she saw you? LOL You would have deserved it you know lol I can't believe you're back working. It had been so long since I had lost a rose..... I was beginning to think I couldn't lose one :) Sometimes I need a wakeup call to keep me from getting too full of myself, Same for us. With our sandy "soil" at the old house, the roses would own root, they'd be horrible for year 2 then year 3 they started getting nice, year 4 awesome. It was them own rooting that we were able to take as many roses as we did when we moved. The only way we lost some was due to them sitting in pots since fall 2006, not sure of the dead count yet, but it means I finally get to buy more roses lol I have to rebuy red Eden, that was planted in dads garden, my "mother" didn't let me come back to take my roses/plants before she sold the house. We were going to buy it, then she got another offer without telling us. It is easy to be 'brave' and uncomplaining when I can feel steady improvement. Pain woke me this morning and I began to feel sorry for myself. Realized that I would have given anything 2 weeks ago to feel as little pain as I had today. It would have been wonderful even a week ago :) I don't think you ever get used to the pain. Chances are you are going to have some problems from this. You're right though, you remember how you were when 1st injured then are thankful that the pain is going away, but it's still pain and when it wakes you up is the pits. I fought pain meds for years but gave in. They changed them back in March but once again, I'm used to them and they are only taking the edge off for an hour; as the day goes they don't even touch that. Best advice I can give you is to speak up about the pain, then if needed get a script for something mild for days like you had. Suffering through the pain isn't going to help you any and if you are like the rest of us, you'll get grouchy. You also have to watch because you probably injured muscle which is a large part of my problem. I have really bad muscle spasms, which are nothing like when you feel your muscle jumping around, it's a deep, deep pain that will wake you up. What I usually suggest is to google the body part, say lower leg muscles or nerve posters, you will then click on images and find this. Pick a decent one, then print it out and trace your pain with marker or pen/pencil then also write what the pain feels like. If the pain shoots from the left side of your knee to the right, mark that. Bring it with you the next time you see the doctor, they will be very impressed & it will give them a better idea of what you are going through. I've gone so far as to write down the various pain I have during the day. If you are good with a photo program, you can open the poster image in that, then draw the pain lines using the pencil tool. You can get creative with various colors for different types of pain. Duke is happy. He can keep up with me walking now. He lets me use the ramp I built for him to get in the house too. Celeste - my notes show that I planted RR in June 2004. I do nothing to winter protect and have had just a little tip dieback. Last year (or the year before?) I lost a few canes but they had been late season growth and did not get a chance to mature and harden off properly. Mine is in a prime location getting sun from the beginning to end of the day. Also, 7 years ago a huge elm tree was removed from that corner of the yard so there are tons of rotting tree roots to keep the worms happy. Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I'm always shocked to see how nice climbers look in the warmer zones. We cold zoners have such a limited number of hardy climbers. Of course I think Ramblin Red is among the best given my experience with it.

Hi Deanna, Irresistible has been something else. I've grown roses since 1961. When I say it is one of the best roses I've grown that includes all categories, not just minis. I didn't consider minis real roses until this century. This is a post I made a while back: an old farmer told me years ago that the Yellowstone had brought something special down from the geysers up in the park over all those millions of years.... thinking about it during the years since, I think he was right. If you promise not to shoot me... when I go to a new jobsite, stripping the topsoil is one of the first jobs. Sometimes the soil is so good I want it. I load it up and tell the truck driver to take it to my topsoil pile at the company pit. I like a little more sand in the soil than ours usually has. There are some seams of sand in the pit we are excavating to run through the rock crusher. I go to the pit on a weekend and run the soil and sand through the crusher. It comes out on a conveyer belt and piles up. I use a loader to take it to my select pile. Everyone in the company uses that soil from my select pile now. Kevin, the owner, makes outrageous money on the stuff too. He now keeps a regular product pile of it. He makes more per cubic yard on it than on road base material. He thought it was silly when I made up the first batch :) When we first moved here I brought some equipment home. I went through and took out at least a foot of the old soil. Any that I didn't like was loaded up and exported. I brought in the best topsoil I had found. That was before I ran soil and sand through the crusher. Anyway... I use my select soil and mix it with compost. That goes in new beds and as topdressing in the old beds. I don't understand why everyone doesn't do that... ooops! Add 2 crazy people that love to spend 20+ hours/week (each) together playing in the yard. Now if those 2 people are also the kind that plants just seem to thrive for.... Y'all think I'm joking about magic don't you? It is real :) We don't use anything special feeding the roses. They get MiracleGro or MG for Roses, whichever is cheaper.
