Thanks NancyJane, Every Spring my Grannie would organize our annual trip up the Grapevine to see the wildflowers. (That used to be a very scary road to drive, too.) I bet my Aunt has thousands of slides from all those trips up to see the wildflowers. Rainbows of color growing on the slopes! The other annual event was to see the Butterfly migrations - millions of butterflies crossing the highways and byways in low-hanging clouds or white, yellow, and blue, and quite literally, stopping all traffic. You had to stop and wait for them to go bye. What a wonderful phenomena - unbelievably beautiful and so amazing to witness. ~Annie

I love the drama too deanie! Isn't it so much fun to watch? It's the very best time of the year. I tell my boys that there is a very entertaining soap opera going on out there in the yard. You just have to know what to watch for! My Mocker pair is doing their mating dance out in the yard. Their nest is almost done, and they have both worked so hard on it. The Mourning Dove males are chasing the poor females relentlessly. They are some randy birds. The male Robins are staunchly planting feet and defending their territory. The Chickadee pairs are flitting about the trees together, and they are the first birds I hear each morning when I go out. I have 8 Giant Arborvitae (really huge) in my back yard, and the Robins, Doves, and Cardinals adore nesting in them. Problem with that is that those things really move in the wind, and nests that are not built well or not in a good spot will come tumbling out. I have to make regular rounds around those trees to check for fallen nests and baby birds. I have often found nests and babies, and have had some success with good outcomes in spite of the nesting disruptions. Gotta love nesting season!!!

I'm having the same problem.. I have a window feeder that I LOVE seeing the birds feed. But the dang bluebird male just wants to peck at it. I've tried many things. Having my curtains drawn works, but can't see out. There is a film called collidescape that will help/work? Kind of pricey though. It's my next step. I may try some bridal netting that is mostly see through.. cheap to try!

You can see why it's taking so long! Each piece of picture molding is drawn out on the wall in proportion. Where there will be towel racks, he puts a molding above and below to make it look proportional. Same guy did all the tile. The floors are heated and he laid the electric wires for that, too. He matched the window trim to the original house. BTW -- our building code won't allow a chandelier to be within 8' of a tub or shower.. So, there is a SolaTube centered over the tub. The two wooden bead chandeliers are centered outside the windows, in the "walk" area of the long bathroom. It is 8.5' x 20'.
