wonder if the black matting is cooking them on 90 degree days ... have you used this product before???? its not only super heating the soil .... which keeps it hot deep into the night .. it also reduces a recovery period ... and may be why.. lower limbs are more affected ... and the hole is so small.. i wonder if water is getting to the plant efficiently .... i dont watch video of inanimate objects... lol ... it is interesting how you labeled the plants on the black stuff ... ken

My tomato plants were harden off in the sun and were about 6 inches tall when I planted them in the ground. They were fine and were watered very well but after a few days we received a couple of days of rain. The main stem is getting larger but the plants are curling up as if the were rolling into a ball. They are south facing and are receiving full sunlight about 8 hours a day. Are they getting too much sun

I think the problem may be related to not too much water, but in fact that the water level is not consistant. I know that mature tomato plants can use up to 5 gallons of water a day. You appear to have very small pots and even though they are getting water ever few days they in fact may be stressed because not getting enough water. I have Earth Boxes on my porch and also plant in garden. I put in an Early Girl first week of February with a Water Wall around it and am watering it every other day and I keep a water tray under the pot with water constantly keeping the soil moist. I use Garrett Juice Plus,Thrive, and Plant Wash (all Organic). Been using for several years and the Plant Wash will do away with you pest problems. I mix all of it up in a gallon of water and water all plants with it and rarely have any problems. Even moisture in soil is key to releaving stress to any plant. Your plant is fine and normal. Lower leaves, especially those shaded, will get yellow and dry up or fall off eventually.
