Easy way to keep HOSP out of nest box's

Hello everyone!

A very easy way to keep your native birds safe and HOSP away from your

native birds: Place a wooden bluebird box on your barn or home or nearby

where people gather. The HOSP wants to nest near people and high if you have a ladder nearby the higher the better if not the house can be left 5 feet as we

all know the HOSP will nest even in a box very low. Left them start to nest

then slip a trap in the box. The Van Ert is one of the best. I just leave the box's

mounted on the barn every few weeks remove nest place trap and worry free

the five pair of bluebirds go about there business and are safe and sound should

more HOSP show add two or three box's its added insurance that the others will be safe. You can use any old box HOSP will nest in anything. Something I have done for over 10 years and I am a guest on the farm and the owners are fine

with it and understand my work! I think in 10 years my Martins may have seen HOSP no more than 6 times and were trapped within a day thanks

to the house mounted traps. The martins kept them from there homes

and ran them off to the barn traps. Very easy system but works.
