The bluebirds are back! They showed up today (first time this winter) for suet, seed, and water. Such beautiful birds, aren't they?

Interestingly, they seem to be ganging with finches (House? Purple? Pine grosbeak? Not sure...) and hanging out with them on the feeder and in the trees.

Adding more suet and some mealworms to my shopping list!

Wonderful! It is so exciting to have them back for the winter. Your tree looks very much like mine did last year. They would wait up there for me to fill the mealworm and suet feeders. Here's a picture of mine from last winter.

Mine are not back yet this winter. I'm envious.

Look! It's a bluebird tree, and the little birdies are almost ripe! :-)

Very sweet shot.

Put out the suet, meal worms, and fresh water. If you feed them, they will come!

I plan to make all my seedlings (that I can handle) flower, then force them for the following year, and give away. I already promised the first one for Cindeea, for she sent me seeds, the second one for Maria, for her seeds... And then the rest will go to Project Angelfood. Hopefully they will see it as a nice gesture and not an unnecessary burden. :o)

Mine showed up on New Year's Day! They don't come every day, but almost. This year there are sometimes up to a dozen out there, looking for suet nuggets. Haven't seen them in a couple days and I'm a little worried.

I've noticed that the Bluebirds like to hang out with the Finches too, particularly the Goldfinches.

Look I've got a Bluebird tree too! (There are 6 here, not as easy to see them as your guys photos though)

It's hard to get a good picture in cloudy weather, but I can make out all six of them. Hope yours come back soon. I have loads of mealworms just waiting for them if they come back here. In the meantime, the Tufted Titmice are enjoying them. I seem to have an abundance of TUTI this year.

I saw a flock yesterday!!! About 7 or 8 of them :) They were also hanging out with my local residents the house finches. No one checked out my house, but I hope they will!!! Christy :)

I had them here yesterday and the day before checking out nest boxes, but they never went near the feeder. I haven't seen or heard them today.

They're starting to look to the boxes everyone! I haven't seen any here lately...but then again by boxes are in the neighbor's field, so you gotta LEAVE the house to see them. They hang around the power lines in front of my house every once in a while.

I passed the boxes driving down a neighbors long drive way. There was a bird on one of my boxes! Came back and it was gone...No ID:( ...could easily have been a HOSP doing early house hunting. Gonna lay the hammer down on them this year!!!! >:)
