I would get the thick brass connectors and use metal strap clamps. even with the metal strap clamps you still have to periodiclly retighten. Regardless of the type of hose they work loose. I used RTV or super glue with some sucess at the joints and on the screw threads. IMO the plastic ones arn't worth a dare.

Hi ic, You didn't mention what type of sprinkler heads you have, but I recommend just removing the nozzles and cleaning the head filters and nozzles and see if that helps. Check if the throw improves if opening each valve manually. If all the heads are all on one zone or several zones. If all zones throw less you might have a pressure drop in your mainline. Check your faucet pressure. Has the pressure in your house changed? Anyway there are many of possibilities. The more info the better. Buy a pressure gauge from the hardware store that goes on to your hose faucet($15) and monitor your pressure. Let us know the results and we can help further. Aloha

Personally I dislike hauling out the hose for this and that. A good gallon size pump sprayer is just the ticket. The hose end sprayers work well for treating the entire lawn. Once you've got the weeds at bay though, and a reasonably thick turf, you shouldn't really need it for herbicides. A professional quality pump sprayer will last many years and can be disassembled and repaired, o-rings renewed &c. You can purchase lawn chemicals in concentrate form and mix up any amounts or combinations needed. A small amount of liquid dishsoap in the mix will help the herbicide stick to the leaves. Only the actively growing weeds need to be treated, this saves money and lessens chemical runoff into the environment. Be sure to always have the sprayer itself labeled with the type of chemical used.

The piece would be a stainless steel or brass fitting that is flared on one end and male threaded pipe on the other. You typically see this fitting connecting stainless steel flex gas line to the iron gas pipe. I don't normally see it sold individually - only with a flex gas line. Be sure you use teflon tape on all of your joints (yellow teflon tape for gas) except for the flair fitting. Also be sure you leak test everything with soapy water. I hate to say it, but the better answer is to do this with one hose. Connecting them together like that is borderline bogus.
