Brandywine Cowlicks vs. Sudduth - and (My) Winner Is...(pics)

Having grown both varieties side-by-side in identical conditions, I was curious to see how different in taste Cowlicks vs. Sudduth would be to me. Cowlicks exhibits a bit rounder fruit vs. the lobes I see on Sudduth:

Sudduth clocked in a couple of ounces heavier in this pairing:

But my real "test" was taste. I went back and forth sample-to-sample and it was a difficult challenge between the two (Cowlicks on the left):

In the end, I preferred Cowlicks over Sudduth by a slight margin. Cowlicks had just a bit more "twang" to it (non-scientific term) for my taste.
