What Would YOU Do Here?

Hi! I have a brand-spanking-new flowerbed that's totally EMPTY! Almost all my flowerbeds have, until now, been on the north side of my house, so most of my experience is with shade plants.

The new bed, however, is on the southwestern side of our house in front of the garage. It gets REALLY full sun. It's about twenty feet long and eight feet deep, slightly raised (six inches), acid (about 6.5) sandy soil recently amended with compost. We tested our soil this past year at Calloway's and we had good mineral content but poor organic material content, hence all the compost. By fall it should be nice and broken-down a bit, right? So I'd like to plant a little now (what I can - I know there's not much that will take it) and plan out the fall bed between now and then.

So with that much space and those conditions, what would you do? Looking for some new ideas!
