They are just very late in flush out with new growth. They love hot, hot weather, and that includes night time temps. When the heat is steady, they will suddenly wake up and grow like crazy. Tell your DIL not to give up on them. I can take a picture of mine right now so you can see. Kati, I don't feed mine either. They do like neglect, I swear! They can grow beautifully in the worst soil you could have. When we bought our rent house in town, there were several Lantana bushes growing in the front yard. That soil was compacted, hard as a rock and dry as a bone, yet those bushes came to life and grew without any help from us the following year and bloomed beautifully. Mine do best if I don't pamper them or water them, but I feel guilty. The two farthest out in the garden seldom get watered and they grow great and bloom beautifully. I do weed around them, but that is all.

Hi Carol, Your leaves look fine. The edges look red to me, instead of black. Which usually indicates a plant that flowers pink or red, Usually. The trunk does look sunburned. Repot it using a fast-draining mix. Cactus soil with added perlite works well. Give it a soaking, and maybe some shade for a week, then back to full sun. Water only when the soil is dry. Its best to invest in a moisture meter(Home Depot, 10.00 or less). The meter takes the guess work out of "when to water". Hope this helps! Randy in Savannah

Yes, after flipping it, I’d definitely move the light up. I like the tile, it’s unique. Just for fun, I finger-painted your mirror black to see how it’d look: But I like the chrome ... as mentioned, it ties in with other surfaces. It’s a very nice bathroom. I do think raising the light will make a big difference in proportions feeling ‘off’. After that, I’d just live with it as is for a while and see if you want to make any changes at that point (round mirror, etc). Distance examples:
