No box here either Carol. But, I did have a rather good morning. I live in a rather large trailer park, and there is a place in the back where we're supposed to take all of our brush and leaves, making a rather large composting area. People have been cleaning out their yards, getting ready for winter, and I've taken to driving out there once or twice a week to do some "shopping". Today I rescued some variegated English ivy, a couple of rather large spike plants, and even found a 6-foot section of wooden trellis. The ivy is now planted beneath some small evergreens in my yard, the spike plants are air-drying so I can use the leaves in my basket-making, and the trellis is in its new home, where I'll be using it as a backdrop for my Halloween garden next summer. It's faded to grey, and will look great with morning glories swarming all over it. There were some large geraniums out there also, along with some bricks and pavers. I'm leaving the geraniums due to space issues in the house, but I am still considering going back for the bricks and pavers. There was also a large wooden post, but I can't think of a use for it. Hmmm, any suggestions anyone? It kind of reminds me of a post used to tie a boat to.
Anyway, like Carol says, there's always Monday. Hopefully we'll receive our boxes soon. And on that note, what's planned for next month? I like playing with you ladies.

yep, I'm the one who wants to use an older boat and fill it up as a water feature with plants and fish. the only problem is, I've run out of room for such a thing. I'll probably head back and pick up that post tomorrow though, it's older, so I know vines could root into it and do some climbing. as for the bricks and pavers, maybe another raised bed garden? lol, I've already raised up the rose garden, so perhaps I could raise the veggie garden, or part of it. we'll see what tomorrow brings.
after my little adventure outside this morning, I got into the kitchen and did some cooking. I made cheese ravioli with a mushroom sauce which complimented the chicken breasts quite nicely! I've never made mushroom sauce before, but it's so easy I'm going to make notes on how I added to the recipe so I can make it again! and of course, since the bottle of white wine was already open (would you believe I poured almost 2 cups of the stuff into the sauce?), I simply HAD to pour myself a glass, right?

as for Barnabas Collins, I loved watching Dark Shadows when I was a kid, but I only got to watch half of each episode. it usually took that long for my mother to find out what I was watching and send me outside to play. I'm telling you, the warning signs were there all along. they should've known how I'd turn out! lol!

hello guys and ghouls, I am sorry that I've not been around. I have the flu still and am feeling pretty cruddy. Been sick for about 2 weeks now. I'm sorry I haven't gotten my box out yet but will by monday. I had planned on sticking some live plant in there with the goodies I had gathered but the weather hadn't cooperated very much between all the rain showers we've been getting.

Please be patient with me. I'm not going to run out on my little ghoul. Promise!

My daughter has flu A so has been home sick with me for the past 2 weeks as well. My middle son had the regular flu as well but is feeling much better, except is still coughing.

I feel like I'm getting worse but am keeping good thoughts and am detemined to feel normal soon.

Sorry to have been delaying your halloween happiness with my germ infested situation.

Tracy, just take care of yourself and don't worry about the box. This is about the fun of putting together a box too, and I'd rather you waited until you were able to enjoy that part of it too. Thanks Dan and cAROL, I really appreciate your understanding (and the chicken soup!). I can't believe how long this is hanging on. Very annoying to say the least. I do apologize for not posting sooner, I turn into a hermit when I don't feel good. My little girl's fever is finally gone. I am very happy about that. I have good weather today, the sun is out and it doesn't look too cold so I will see if digging some of my "monster" plants is in the cards. I have some fun goodies ready for my little ghoulie, I am excited to send them, hate that I crashed and burned for so long though. :O)

Mme. Giroux tells Raoul to hold his hands at the level of his eyes so he can escape the punjab lasso if the Phantom tries to use it on him. The Phantom would lower a noose on his un-suspecting victims, then pull it up and tie it off, leaving them to strangle to death. If you held your hand up next to your eyes though, you'd feel the lasso as it was being dropped on you, and you could escape it.

And no, no box...

Tracy hope you are feeling better. These seem to be some nasty bugs going around. I still have mine after two weeks. I got sent home from school yesterday (like a little kid) because I had a 101 fever and told not to come back until my fever was under 100 for 24 hours without fever reducers. So I'm home today. Not complaining. So I called the doctor again yesterday and told him this wasn't going away and he put me on steroids. At least I'll be really buff when I'm over this. :)

Just in case the last two boxes find their way home tomorrow or Friday, I may be MIA for 3-4 days. Before I got sick this weekend I had promised to go to Flat Rock MI this week to visit friends. I am feeling better, but I have reserved the right to decide tomorrow if I feel up to the drive.

If I don't post tomorrow it will be because I decided to travel and I will post what I hope is the final update early next week. Otherwise, I will check in tomorrow afternoon.

Actually, I wouldn't mind a bit of a rest. Lately it seems like I'm feeling more tired all the time. I don't know why, I don't have the flu or anything. I just feel tired. This past weekend was okay though, but that might be because I actually had both days off from work. I felt pretty good Sunday. Someone must be hexing me, you think?

I HATE THIS CRAZY WEATHER( yes I'm creaming) It is driving me batty. this summer has been so hot. lost so many plants.
I have been waiting for weather to change so I can go work in the garden. Well on Thursday last it was 97 and so muggy.
We had a cold front come and it was 87 and mugier, Monday it drop to 47 and muggy. could'nt go out too cold. ERRRGGG!

OK I vented thank you for letting vent.

I'm working on my shop, hoping to open Nov. 1st but it doesn't look like I think no later then the 7th.

I quit both my partime jobs which were driving me to the coocoo house LOL and I found the cutest 1920's cottage that is already a buisiness but they are closing out. The lady is retiring to travel with her DH.It is right in the middle of this very old town that is being renovated to look like a picture from Dickens minutes from my house. ANYHOO...........
I am opening(the Lord willing)a wonderfull yummy shabby chic victorian shop.It's going to be very Girly
(but I'm going lure men to buy for their wives.
Lots of work to achieve my life long dream.

Oh Carmen, I do wish you lots of good luck, i think you will do just great.
I used to have a Victorian Shop,it all started when hubby and i were on a little buying trip down south(we hav a very small antique business)any way, we went into this one shop(them southern ladies really know how to do up an antique shop, letme tell ya)Once inside,there were the most Beautiful Lamp Shades I had ever seen,they would fit in beautfully with my antiques,of course, the southern bell would not share any info with me,but i was determined to learn how to make them.AND I DID!
I started taking custome orders for the shades,and befor you knew it, i was so over whelmed with orders, even my hubby was helping,ha ha,.
My shades are every where.
We moved our shop 3 times,each time getting bigger, we had a large range of Victorian Gifts,soon we opened a tea,coffe shop.within the shop,every thing was great,until the last time we moved, we ended up with a crazy landlord,so we sold the business,i kept the Lampshade Business,and still take orders from word of mouth,(i am working on one right now)
I better not say any more,i am taking up to much space about ME.

well, about those overalls... Carol and I thought we'd dress up, but then we thought we'd really confuse everyone by switching costumes! Consider that our trick on everyone!

And, speaking of Carol, you all should see the box she sent to me. She got tired of me waiting for my box, and sent one to me herself. She sent a great Halloween card, garland, napkins, plant markers, daffodils, crocuses, a white rat with black hollyhock seeds, latex gloves (I love latex!), a black crow with yellow rudbeckia, apiders, mints, a cow skull, bone meal (complete with skeleton) in a coffin, ghoulish candy, empty candy wrappers (I think the crow shared them with the rat...lol), gray soap, and lots of tissue for the cats to play in!

I,for one,will be trying to set up some sort of spread sheet,as to what seeds i have,what i need to get sowed sooner than later,and try to make a map of where i want to plant every thing.
This sounds like a good plan doesn't it.but in all reality,it will probably not get done,ha ha
I start out fine,but get lost somewhere between now and spring .
I have a new bed i want to get started,but i need hubbys help,he is working 7-12s**so, no hope there.I can do most of it myself,but i can't cut landscape timbers,well, i guess i COULD,but i don't want to.ha ha

Last year i was in a secret Santa swap, it was soooooooo much fun,i wonder if it will be offered again this year,not that i NEED any more seed,now wait a min. i did see some pretty neat plants in the fine gardening mag.so i DO,need more seeds.

Hi everyone! Dont fall over! I know I haven't posted in a while, lol. Trying to sort seeds for the seed swap I'm in. I've been neglecting the seeds for a long time. But I'm excited about that seed swap!

I'm so excited right now, because the sun came out!! It has been absent for too long. I'm so tired of rain, cold and gloom. Our Fall is gone. No beautiful trees, no smell of dried leaves. All of the leaves turned brown and stayed wet on the trees. Then they fell. Not all of them yet, but there are no oranges, golds, etc. ***sigh***

I hope everyone who has been ill is feeling better, if not well! So far my family is lucking out, but it is early in the season.

cAROL, that was a nice box you sent to Dan. I hope you get yours soon, too. Have fun with your new flower bed! (just don't work too hard!)

I went to Jo Anns Fabric,I bought 6 yards of clear plastic,for covering my WS plants.
While i was in there, i was looking around,and i found the most awesome boxes,they are really pretty, Sunflowers, of,muted colors,rust,red ,black,cream,brown,light gray,and yellow,they say"Always Fresh"Bouqueys"the corners are reinforced with brass fittings,only $6.00 each, i bought 2,and $8.00,i bought 1
Perfect foe storing my seeds,and other needed goodies for WSing.I am soooooooo, excited over this find,as my house is very tiny,now i can leav them sitting out,cause they are so pretty, i have been using just a ugly cardboard box.My worms, will get the box, :0)
