Do you mean 'Wins All'? I'm growing that one, which is a large PL pink-fruited beefsteak, and it's setting fruit just fine where I am.

Hendersons Winsall is the way its spelled.... probably the same thing

Winsall (aka Wins All, Henderson's Winsall) is a late (more than 86 days+) variety while both the others are mid-season varieties so when was it planted? My late season Long-Keeper and Super Bush that are both 85 day varieties haven't started to bloom yet either. Be patient awhile longer. ;)

I have plenty of blooms just no tomatoes... Its definitely a blossom drop issue, but to have absolutely NO tomatoes on an 8 ft plant!!!! Could it be that I need to add some potassium???

That's the problem with late varieties - they begin to bloom during the hottest and most humid part of summer, the pollen is tacky so no fruit is set, and you get blossom drop. The early and mid varieties bloomed and set some fruit before the heat escalated.

Once the temp/humidity mitigate somewhat they will kick into production. Potassium won't help - blossom drop is a result of the day/night air temps - and unfortunately we can't control them unless you want to try erecting some shade cloth over it. Some gardeners report that it will help some. I know with my lettuce the shade cloth is worth 10-15 degrees but lettuce is alot easier to shade than an 8' tomato plant. ;)

On the other hand, it is also one of the advantages of late season varieties and one of the reasons I plant some of them - they produce long after many of the other varieties have begun to shut down so the fresh harvest is extended.

It is tempting I know to compare them to your other varieties but if you can be patient with it it will reward you....eventually. ;)

Did you get seeds from Baker Creek? I think the correct Wins All should be regular leaf. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

I was just looking for more information on this tomato variety, and Southern Exposure says that a guy named Henderson named (or renamed) this variety "Wins All", and that the outstanding flavor of the fruits makes the lower than average yield worthwhile. On the few websites I've found that specify leaf type, they say that Wins All has potato leaves. Can't find anything about leaf type on Henderson's Winsall, though. On my plant, it's unmistakably PL. So I guess maybe these are two varieties?

This was from Chuck Wyatt's site in 1999, he said PL but I think someone else said it should be RL. It's in Carolyn's book but I don't have it here to check. The one I grew was PL from Baker Creek, pic may be on MyPage...

"Winns All- 80 days - Indet pot leaf large pink, slightly flattened, outstanding flavor, moderate yields, Introduced in 1924 by Peter Henderson and Co. as number 400. Renamed Winns All in 1925 after a name contest."

Winsall, or Wins All (I've seen it both ways,but the former is how it is listed in the Henderson catalog) is regular leaf. I've grown it many times, and it should be a pretty good yielding tomato. It is also midseason (70-75 days) for my garden in Raleigh, in season with Cherokee Purple and many others.

It was developed as an improvement on their late 1880's large pink regular leaf variety Ponderosa - they held a contest of their customers, and Winsall took the prize. If you have a potato leaf tomato, it is not Winsall.
