First Blush?

Hello,

I am an avid tomato lover and I'm growing my first tomatoes this year. I have Brandy Boy, Brandywine and Bush Early Girl. I've been reading about the ripening of tomatoes. Last year I tried to grow Brandywine but the only tomato I managed to get (lots of problems with the growing stages, fixed this year) had full color on the entire tomato but was hard and green on the inside. I don't want to run into that mistake again. I did try to eat that tomato right away though without letting it sit a few days.

Here is my query. I've seen posts about pulling at first blush however I don't know what a "first blush" looks like so I was wondering if you guys could show me? If I pull at first blush, how long do I let it sit to ripen and does it affect the flavor at all?

Thanks guys and gals!
