Robin - Need4Seed
Comments (5)Hello, Thank you all for your concern. Need 4 Seed will be running again this year. I will gladly accept any donations, or trade for seeds for those who cannot afford them. As for me, the last several months or so have been some of the most difficult of my life. I am trying to get back to something more normal now, and nothing would help me more than to help others. Right now, I need to be occupied, and sorting and packaging seeds, and putting together care packages would be just my speed. Please feel free to contact me at Robin_282 with @yahoo.com at the end. I type it that way because sometimes actual links or e-mails do not post properly. Thanks again for caring, and if you haven't joined Need4Seed yet, please do. Anyone interested in the project can join--even if all you'd like to do is observe. Send me an e-mail; I'll send an invitation. Garden Web has some great people...that's for sure. Comments (5)They will re-sprout. Cut them near the ground. Use a spade bit (a.k.a. paddle bit) to drill several large holes in the trunk. Fill the holes with Round-up BRUSH killer. Cover with a pot to keep the sun from evaporating the Roundup, to keep birds from drinking and to keep rain from diluting it. Do this about 3 times over the next 3 months. It won't come back and will kill the roots...See MoreUPDATE: relaxing robin (aka need more stress robin )

Jeanette, you were so kind to me, and I thank you for that very much!!! I always enjoy sorting through the packets of these robins. I hope someone can use what I added. Thanks again for letting me play! It was great! : ) Treasa...See Morerobin nest on tractor - need to use tractor
Comments (22)Thank you all for all the comments here. I have a nest though while no eggs (3 robins fledged successfully ages ago) the nest remains the parents home. Issue is it's under my bedroom window in ivy which due to leaving them so long, its now completely covered the window and onto the roof. I'm going to build a box as shown by rober49 (thank you) and place it under the eaves for protection. The nest is huge and looks very solid (i.e., been in use a very long time). The robins eat from my hand (as did their babies) so trusting they will understand, forgive and continue using their relocated nest. The UK robins are tiny compared to those in the US. Ours are a fair bit smaller than a tennis ball. I think your's are on steroids. Thank you all ... feeling much happier about this....See Moretropicanarama
