So, I was on the site of the Michigan Bulb Co, which I have frequently haunted. I haven't purchased anything there yet, because I have tried to learn on what was available for sale here. However, I decided to try my hand at roses, and the only roses available here are the Knockout's, which (sorry to everyone who has them) I don't really love. Michigan Bulb Co has a few varieties I really like. But then I went to one of their choices of a six variety rose garden, and one of the six was the Mint Julep Rose. I fell in love. And yet it is not available! Does anyone have a suggestion as to where to either get this one, or one as close to possible like it? I really like the green tinges to the flower, and the peach effects. And according to sites online, its one of the hardest roses to find for sale.

Also, I found out that its original name was "emerald mist" and that apparently cold weather can make it turn a dull gray- but I live in Pasadena, TX, so it doesn't get too too cold. I wondered if anyone has grown this variety?

Never grown it, but you might try Burlington Rose Nursery or Roses Unlimited. Good luck in your search.

You may want to ask on the Miniature Rose Forum and consider that in a pot, it would be more likely to stay smaller than if planted in the ground. In any case, roses are great container plants and fragrant ones are icing on the cake!

I know what you mean - the climate here does something that seems to put them over the top, the stuff of dreams and rose catalogs. That, and actually being able to grow so many more of them.

The lily flowers are lasting about 3 or 4 days now. Somehow them not lasting as long as the first makes me feel better. From this morning. Both are open at the same time for an hour each morning before the night blooming one closes. I honestly don't remember which gardenia this is... Chuck Hayes maybe.

And here is another variation of a 2nd bloom on the same campfire rose. It was for this reason when I saw them pictured online that I had to get one of these and as it turned out the garden center near me that I go to just happened to have them for sale there. So nabbed one. Second year for it. When I got the coral dawn this year they still were selling these ones. White with faint pink petals and dark pink edged petals soooo pretty.

It is listed at Roses Unlimited(.com). I didn't check Burlington. I always liked this one too and have almost ordered it once or twice.

Be sure to check feedback on any nursery, especially a mail-order one, before you get plants from it.

You can look up suppliers at helpmefind.com. Just search the rose by name then find which nursery supplies it.
