San Marzano plants look horrible

organic-lauran

I live it the Bay Area and we have had some cold nights and days. I have plenty of tomato plants, sungold, cherokee purple, black crim, parsimmon, sweet cherry, etc. All the plants are hardy and beautiful but the san marzano. They are thin, with yellow leaves and look pitiful. I have fertilized them with worm castings, increased the watering, and added some fresh compost from my pile, but they still look like they are struggling.

Am I doomed to failure because the san marzano are not hardy enough for the bay area weather? Do they need warmer weather or do they normally look thin and pale?

Thanks!
