By far and away, the very best product to get rid of fungus gnats is Gnatrol. You can purchase this on amazon.com. Organic and very, very effective. Just be sure to treat all your indoor plants, as they can be living in other indoor plant soils, and will return to your citrus if you don't treat everything. I would say the loss of leaves is probably more due to not enough light. I would provide additional artificial light for your trees. And, I would switch to DynaGro Foliage Pro for your fertilizer. Using in-ground granular fertilizers in container citrus can cause salts build up, and cause burning. Patty S.

Leave as is, I think it's fine! I have watched black roots begin to sprout new green roots when the plant gets settled into its new pot. I think it will be just fine now that it's in breathable bark. I do mist my aerial roots daily ... I figure it can't hurt, right? This way if I ever wait too long between waterings/soakings, I know it's at least gotten some moisture from the mistings, and won't get too shocked.

Hello! So it seems that You do have root rot. Root rot in fiddle leaf figs is vary common, Yet vary deadly if you don't act fast, You did the right thing by drying out the rootball. The next step is to Inspect the roots and remove any wet, soggy, Or browning roots. After that there is not much more you can do but put it in Fast draining soil and not water it for a while in a well draining pot. I believe that at this stage, It will recover. Just a future tip, When potting a FLF, don't use a pot that is to much bigger than the rootball, A pot that is too big will retain water, And cause root rot. BEYOND PEAT is the purple bag on sale this fall for $2, versus $5 for Better Homes and Garden container soil. So the cheaper price is actually better quality. Scott's bagged topsoil (red bag) sold at Walmart also changes the formula to be higher salt. Back in 2012 I was foolish to mixed horse manure into my clay, then planted 3 Austin own-roots. They broke out in salt burn (brownish at the edge of leaves). In 2012 I replaced the soil with Scott's bagged topsoil, and each Austin gave 40+ blooms as 1st-year own-root & very healthy. Back then that soil had lots of black peat (decomposed peat), thus high in nitrogen. Fast forward to 2022, I bought Scott's bagged topsoil, and the ingredients changed to LESS expensive black peat & MORE cheap & salty horse manure. I found a wad of brownish horse manure inside. It's saltier, and made my roses broke out in mildew, plus brownish burn at edge of leaves. Will scrape off that soil which I used to top my air-pots.
