Tomato leaf problem- pic

Hello

I'm growing a Sweet 100 cherry plant in a 15 gallon container in San Francisco. The tomato plant is now 1 ft tall. Some of the leaves have brown spots. In addition, some of the affected leaves have feel dry and crunchy. I do not see any insects on the underside of the tomato leaves. I do water the leaves periodically.

If I keep cutting off the bad leaves, I might not have a plant. Can this plant be saved ?

Yesterday, I posted this problem on the tomato pest and disease forum but I rec'd no responses to date.

Hard for me to tell from those pictures. It is possible it is sunburn. Did you harden them off? Is it the old leaves or is it affecting the new ones also? I don't water my leaves except for when I spray with Daconil or a foliar spray. Avoid it all the other times. JMO. JD

I think my tomato plant cannot be saved. I did some more
research and I think the plant has the Tomato spotted wilt virus. Early symptoms in a young plant include inward cupping of leaves and leaves develop a bronze cast followed by brown spots. Once the plant becomes infected the disease cannot be controlled. My plant has all of the above symptoms. I purchased the plant at a big box store and it
has always been outdoors. My picture does not show bronze leaves because I cut them off.

I have to change my coloring on the spots......they are really a tanish color with the naked eye......yellowish when the leaf goes thru the computer scanner. Thanks Tonia

I see similar leaves every year and do not know what causes them. My plants seem to get affected after a sharp drop in temperature after some very hot days. They always continue to grow and produce. The weird leaves may only last for 1 or 2 branches then return to normal. As the deformed leaves grow in size they often get more and more normal looking. Acid rain? Air polution? Herbicide drift? I don't know but I think you will still get tomatoes, at least I did for the last 3 years with plants that developed leaves like the ones you posted.
