Wind

Hi all,

I planted tomato plants grown from seed in their final outdoor home about ten days ago. I had hardened them off for a couple of weeks. I know I could have done a better job of hardening off, but my life got unexpectedly crazy busy.

So, several days ago we had a very windy day and I wasn't home to do anything about it. My plants are now showing what appears to be stress from the wind. The leaves closest to the ground have yellowed, and have areas of dead-like spots. The leaves at the top of the plant appear happy and healthy.

What I'm trying to find out is the long term effects of this. Are the plants doomed? Or will they recover and just keep on truckin'??

Thanks,

Kim

PS.....If this is helpful, after planting we had several damp and cool days in the 50s. Maybe this had something to do with the current state of the plants as well. Still waiting for summer weather to kick in here in the Boston area!
