New one on me...pest...

I'm not looking for a solution as much as I am venting. I can afford to give up some lower-limb fruit more than I care to make my garden boxes a fortress to hold onto to a couple more handfuls of tomatoes...

That said...

This is the first time I've had some animal(s) in my garden who LOVES green tomatoes. Now, I've lost plenty over the years to a curious critter that decided to take a couple bites and just move on...but something out in my garden is going after the green tomatoes and eating almost all of it.

It's all low-branch loss, so I can deal with it, but I've never seen more than a few "What's this?" bites out of the discarded tomatoes around any of my gardens. I'm out there finding 2-3oz. fruits without a shred of ripening showing that are almost totally eaten.

New year...new thing to bug me...new thing to think about next year.
