I've grown them a number of times with mixed results. Some years they bloom, others not. They've always been started the same time of year, same conditions (am sun, well watered) so I don't know why some years are good and others not. Many of the older leaves eventually yellow and drop but I don't get spots. They are way more picky then the common garden nasturtiums which sprout and bloom quickly and do well in the heat here. The Tropaeolum peregrinum (Canary vine) likes cooler temps and is a much less vigorous grower for me, even the years that it blooms well.
