1 Japanese Morning Glory plant in a 1-Gallon Pot, OK ?

Can I plant a normal size Japanese Morning Glory plant in a 1-Gallon Pot ? I'm not talking about Beni-Chidori or any of the other small, creeper types of JMGs, just the normal size ones such as Tie Dye, Mt Fuji etc. Will the gallon pot be big enough for the roots of one such plant ? Appreciate your input, and hopefully quickly so that I can go get more tomato cages for these gallon pots if necessary. Thanks.
