Thank you everyone for the neat plants! I wasn't going to bring much home, but....

Oh, I came home with Brugs, roses, bearded Jew, hardy gloxinia, beautiful purple leaved cannas, beautyberry, thryallis, a most unusual hoya, gamecock iris, oxalis, passionflowers, bauhinia & lots of other cuttings, Mexican sunflower & gomphrena seeds--so many things. I hope I haven't left out anyone's wonderful plants I received, but with such a haul, it's hard to recall! Got most everything planted today.

And particular thanks to you, Roselee, for opening your lovely yard for viewing, for feeding everyone (boy, it was GOOD, too!), & for so graciously sharing so many plants.

Had a ball! Let's do it again!

Well Karen, there's enough food left over that we can do it again tomorrow! Oh, except for the brownies and ice cream that I gave to the neighbors so Bob and I wouldn't be tempted to finish it off in one sitting ... LOL

I love reading the names all the different plants you took home. Thank you for all that you gave us!

Just want to thank everyone for such a wonderful time!!!My daughters couldn't believe all the wonderful shapes, sizes, and variety of plants I came home with. Thanks to all for being so generous with your treasures. I have been staying up late having so much fun googling all the different plants. I am going to make it my mission to find a plant for the next plant swap that all you gardeners don't have. I know it wont be easy!!
ALso my parents had soooo much fun they are already getting their plants ready for the next swap!!!LOL
It is so nice to meet people that share your same interests. I look forward to the next one.

We had a great time. It's always fun to poke around in Roselees garden and see what new treasures she has. I see she has wounded her laborer though, poor guy ran around in a sling, though maybe he was just trying to get us to all hug him.

I actually got most of the plants in the ground yesterday, the cuttings ready to go in and the rest watered.
We took the back roads home and enjoyed the scenery.

This was my 1st swap ever, I've only been gardening (if that's what you want to call it) for a few months. I have never been around a group of people that were so loving and gracious - the blessings you guys sowed in my yard will be remembered for years to come. I spent Sunday from 7am to 7pm in the yard, having the best time planting stuff. Thank you all so very much - see you guys soon!!!!! Don't forget me - Renae!

Yeah, Tally -- Bob was milking it for all he could ... LOL. He is a trooper though. The 'one armed wonder' insisted on mowing the grass with one arm even when I was telling him not to.

The story I heard was that you had a whip out to make sure it was mowed right.

Tally, Your dirt is softer. no fair. I dug some holes down in the "draw" for the apache plume, where one needs to wear goggles and keep your mouth shut when you swing the pick or that thousand dollar crown might be history. The holes were 1" dirt and 90% limestone chunks. till one hits the solid sparking stuff. I am not even close to done. I also got a package in from Texas ranger and I have a bunch of wild stuff I have been growing since spring. SOOOOO much to plant. I ran out of dirt again so it is back to the dirt store for decomposed granite sand and compost. I did get out a bunch of red flags marking positions. Thy looked neat in the setting sun. I thought .HMMMM, no water , maybe I should just plant little red marker flags instead of breaking my back on holes for plants.

really sorry I missed this one! Roselee you really need to try to attend our church 'scwappe' pronouced shwappy by our pastor. We are not as organized, but everyone brings something and leaves it, and takes what ever they want. It's lots of fun. It's in April. TTYL--miss you!

Balcones Heights is a township within San Antonio near the intersection of IH 410 and Fredericksburg Rd.
