Not sure about the exact correct name. I have seen it called Thai Pear or Thai White. These are meant to be eaten while still green and crisp, right?

vietnamese call it xa li guava. It's not a variety name, it's just the name for any guava that looks like that. I've heard it called Vietnamese guava. I've seen many of these trees in people's yards, they are usually grown from seed. The fruit can grow quite large and are eaten green.

In my zone I have to bring it in around mid November. It is now about 7ft tall. I need to re-pot because I am pretty sure it is pot bound. Had 6 fruits this year. Here is a picture.

Slightly off-topic, but nana - how big was that tree when you got it? And was that seed-grown or grafted?

My guava is an air-layer. I have subsequently made 2 more air layers out of it. You can see them in the picture.

I am growing some seedlings in hopes of grafting. Not sure if that will be beneficial. As it is the tree is pretty fast growing and productive. I will have to trim it some before I move it to the garage in week or so. Tonight's lows are going down to the mid to upper 30's so I am a little nervous. It has survived in the unheated garage when outside temps were around 15F
