Question re: adequate sunlight for tomatoes

I think I might have made a mistake when I had a carport installed beside my house recently. The carport is in front of my garden bed, which faces east and west. I have shade trees on the east side of the bed and the plants don't get real sunlight until about 10 AM, which was still okay, as they got the sun from that time on until dusk.

Now, with the installation of the carport on the west side of the garden bed, that has changed. The carport casts a shadow over the entire garden by about 5 PM. I'm a little worried about just how much sun the JetStar species of tomato requires.

I've read conflicting stories of "how much" or "how little" is required on other websites, but I'm still unsure as to how this might factor into tomato growth and production.

If anyone has experienced this problem, I'm all ears as to what you might have to say about it.

Comments welcome, and thanks in advance.
