Beautiful, as always, Jim. My garden is not as showy this year as last. We have had such strange weather -- in the 40's for lows in May and 100 plus highs in June... poor little plants do not know what to do.

I know what you mean, Carrie. We've had August weather since early May, and hardly any rain since I built the new beds in April. My wife is already complaining about the water bill.

I have well water, but the electricity bill goes up when the pumps run so much, so there is really no way to win against MN.

Glad to hear you got some rain. I've whined about our dry spell so I should report I woke up Saturday morning and my wife said, "we got 2 and half inches of rain" and I accused her of trying to pull my let. But, we did.

So, while the watershed around here is still pretty dry, Amarillo is actually a little above normal in rainfall for the month. Probably been a year since we could say that.

And I'm with you Carrie. Kind of hard to battle mother nature.

I don't believe I know what that plant is with the white flowers. It's interesting.

Grinchis, the white flower is Musical Notes, Clerodendrum incisum. It's one of my favorites.

Ok I can't remember the name of the plant in the first picture but I have four and only one blooms for me. I moved two of them and still nothing. I'm so envious of your's. Beautiful garden Jim.

Barb, the first picture is a Crinum called Ellen Bosenquet, and like you, I wish it would bloom more. It's doing better every year. This is it's third year, and it's put up 8 bloom stalks so far.

Jim - Lovely as always. Between lack of water and the mosquitoes it's a wonder any of us get outside! That pink is vibrant on the crinum lily.

I just wanted to tell you that the two clerodendrum erectas
have been growing since the last time I emailed. Hopefully they will continue to do well until the fall swap.

The white bleeding heart bloomed this year for me and so have the blue sky vine...hooray! Thank you!

Your musical note is so unusual...are you rooting any or have seeds?

My Ellen B. and the white crinums are blooming for me, too, but my bee balm has not bloomed.
