Thanks for responding, wc2k8 I bought the plant in a nursery, So I would expect it to be true. The only description I can find online about flavor, is "true tomato flavor". Wouldn't that vary, According to the 'taster'? It's been pretty hot here, So maybe that is doing it? It's been bearing for a couple of weeks now. I had wondered if I had done something wrong As to soil, food, conditioins, etc. Unfortunately, I can't control the heat. Wish I could ! ! Rusty

Thanks seysonn. Back to the topic at hand, I actually have a Husky Cherry Red tomato and the Bonnie tag said Indeterminate. I planted it in a raised 4x8 bed. 4x6 was allocated to 6 indeterminates in 2 rows of 3 all outfitted with Texas Tomato cages. When I noticed the Husky Cheery Red was a lot shorter than the others, I went to the Bonnie site and it said it was a dwarf indeterminate. It too was stocky in nature and removed the TTC and added one 1x1 stake. Should have left the cage. One branch split from the maturing fruit but was able to add a bamboo stake and it survived. It's currently about 3' high and has multiple stakes. I like the "tangy" Husky Cheery Red, but prefer the sweeter little Sun Sugars (pictured) though it's a monster plant that is over 8' tall. I added another 2' TTC extension the other day. Poor Husky has to fend for itself between a zucchini and a Gold Medal even though I thought I had allowed enough room between plants. I chuck this year as a learning experience and hope to give everyone more room next year with wider spacing and additional beds.

The Husky series was bred by Petoseed and I remember quite a few years ago talking with their PR director Jim Waltrip, now retired, and he said that they didn't go over well with the public b'c folks weren't use to the deep green rugose foliage. But it may also be as Keith said, that the taste wasn't that good either. "but i don't know if i should be pruning like an indeterminate, or leaving alone like a determinate" Agree that one shouldn't prune any of the Huskies. But your statement above implies that indeterminates must be pruned and that is not so. Pruning indeterminate varieties is a personal choice, merely an option relevant to space and support. It is not required for any reason and many growers never prune their tomato plants regardless of the type. Dave
