It is called 'tomato leaf roll' and you can find lots of info about it over on the Growing Tomatoes forum here or by Googling that term. Basically it is a physiological response of the plant to stress but poses to real threat to the plant over all. Once the source of the stress goes away so does the condition. The causes of stress can be as simple as the fact that it is young and growing or as complicated as poor soil drainage problems, excess nitrogen fertilizer, too much or too little water, etc. It is fairly common in early spring with young plants exposed to spring weather extremes. Your plant appears to be rather leggy which makes me question if it is getting enough sun and it could also use some mulch to help stabilize the soil moisture levels. Dave

I looked around on your blog a bit, but I couldn't find what you're using for a planting medium. I see that you are trying to grow organically, but that is very different in a container from in the ground. What are they planted in?

Hi! I'm so sorry, Jean001a, I haven't replied sooner but i have been away (got the neighbor to look after the garden :). Thank you for you response. I had used miracle grow organic all purpose plant food NPK: 7-6-7 when i transplanted the plants to their grow bags. (i don't know what it is made up of though). Luckily it seems as though they have recovered. the leaves are mostly green. However, i think that the fertilizer had too much nitrogen as the plants are now 1m tall and are only just starting to set their first trusses of flowers.

Here are some pictures of the plant I was concerned about: I've also noticed the leaves on most all of my toms are getting a leathery texture and curling a bit. This is my first time growing tomatoes so I have no idea if this is normal. These are pictures of my sweet millions and cherokee purple, they seem to be growing like weeds but I'm a bit obsessed. Thanks for any input! Those were the sweet millions, then again on my CHerokee Purple I see the leaves getting leathery and kind of curling.
