Here is some general information about the plant meet that I send to everyone. It gives you an idea of what we do, and how to get there. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I'm a little slow to email back, but I will email as quick as I can:)

This was all started when a group of plant lovers met on the internet through various plant exchanges. Someone came up with the idea of a get together, and the rest is history. We meet at Mercer Arboretum, (Humble, which is right outside of Spring and Houston). We have a meet every spring and fall. It is a lot of fun. We get together and eat, swap plants and seeds, and talk shop. After everyone is full and swapped out, we go across the street and tour the gardens. No money is exchanged for plants, and nothing is sold. It's all about sharing and or swapping for something that you want to add to the yard:) Anyone is welcome!

We do doorprizes, so if you would like to donate, that would be great.. it can be anything.. dollar store gifts, plants, home made items, etc...

We have a sort of potluck lunch every meet. We will be having chopped beef sandwiches and hotdogs, but anything you want to bring is welcome. Below is a list of things that we will be needing. If you see something that you would like to bring, please email me and I will put you down and update the list of things still needed. If you can think of something that we will need that isn't listed please let me know and I will add it.Â

Not sure it's the right time to dig them out, but they have been here for 26 years, planted by the prior owners. Can dig them out if anyone wants some. especially the ones in the flower bed. forsythia branches, all you want that I can cut fresh. 3 potted up pussywillow bushes that may or may not root. A friend just left with me the following and she will be here at the swap. fresh dug up chives, oregano black eyed susan bleeding heart vinca minor And a neighbor will be coming with vegetable seedlings. Hi Phyllis Here is the info. The address for Mercer Arboretum is 22306 Aldine Westfield Rd Humble TX 77338 Directions Go I-45 and take the 69 exit. If you are going north on 45, you will be going east on Cypresswood, and continue until you get to Aldine Westfield. At Aldine Westfield, you will take a right, and Mercer will be a few miles down on the left. We will be meeting on the Right side of the road, in the picnic areas. It will be on the right. I'll be there by 9:00. We are hoping to meet between 9:30 and 10:00. If coming from the south, southwest or west, you will probably take IH-45 or the Hardy Toll Road, going north. It may be necessary that you take Loop 610 or the Beltway to get to either IH-45 or the Hardy Toll Road. In any event, go north on either IH-45 or the Hardy Toll Road, and exit at FM 1960. Turn right (or East) on F.M. 1960. Very shortly you will see Aldine Westfield Rd. which crosses 1960. Turn left (or north) on Aldine Westfield. It is approximately 1.2 miles from F.M. 1960 to the location of the Park, which is more or less directly across the street from Mercer Arboretum. There is a sign at the entrance to the Park, which will be on the left side of the street.

I have extras of these plants. I might not bring them all if I don't hear any interest. It's too much to carry them back and forth. Allen complains a bit. :-) Some of it will still need to be dug so I won't bother if I don't get a pre trade. I have my three year old granddaughter and getting things done is tricky.
