Unfortunately, while the CEO is apparently well versed in customer service and I am sure is advising you based upon his understanding......a seedling can never be 100% guaranteed to produce as he describes. The percentage is probably pretty high that he will be right....but there is always the chance that a seedling is a sexual reproduction and not the clone of the parent tree. Now if the tree was grown from tissue culture...that would be different. The use of the word "seedling" means just what it says.....it comes from a seed. No variety that I know of produces 100% cloned seedlings. But, maybe this is the one that does. I would be interested to see how many of these they have sold and what the results have been to see if a follow up would confirm his desciption with 100% certainty. Best of luck with the tree. Remember, even if it is not the exact clone, there is the chance that it could be as good or better than the parent. No. so called Philippine Mango or whatever are the ataulfo. The 'Ataúlfo' mango, also called young, baby, yellow, honey, Adaulfo, Adolfo, or Champagne, is a mango cultivar ORIGIN from Mexico. Ataulfo mangos are golden yellow and generally weigh between 6 and 10 ounces, with a somewhat sigmoid shape and a gold-blushed yellow skin. Do understand where mangos came from. They didnt hatch. Hence not originated in the philippines. The growing seasons with tropical weathers make each philippine grown Ataulfo unique tasty sweet distintivtive and could call its own cultivar. nam doc mai is a definite 5 star mango in my opinion. excellent fragrant citrusy sweet indo-chinese flavor. the perfect mango on the Indian side of the flavor spectrum that is small and fruits well is Carrie. Rich creamy outstanding complex mango flavor. i remember in season i bought a big box of mixed mango varieties. i was eating so many different types of mango varieties that looked and tasted like Haden i couldnt even really distinguish them but i knew right away whenever i bit into a Carrie. this season you can sample and compare the fruit for yourself. they both are small trees but can be pruned to dwarf size. my biggest concern would be the taproot outgrowing the container and becoming spiraled, i never heard of anyone root pruning a mango taproot but im sure its possible, mangos are hardy and spring tends to work its magic on them if they are in shock. what size containers do you think you are going to end up with it in ch3rri? i think it would ultimately be happy in 25 gallons. it would take a well draining soil to make that light enough to drag around.
