Has anyone tried the upside down tomatoes?

I have been given 3 upside down tomato containers. I have planted a tomato plant in each one. One of the containers had space for herbs, so I put 3 basil plants around the tomato. Has anyone used these? Is there anything I should know about this system? So far, it seems like the plants are trying to grow upwards towards the sun.I put a mixture of potting soil and Mushroom Gold additive inside the bag/container. I will probably plant some more tomatoes in the garden beds, but I think it will be fun to see how this goes. I have them hanging from an old clothesline pole that came with the house and is so well cemented in that I haven't been able to dig it out and take it down. The top of the pole is just 6 feet off the ground. I learned this by banging my head on the pole, usually once at the beginning of the season. The tomatoes are probably about four and a half feet off the ground. I would be grateful for anyone's experience with this system. Thanks.
