Maybe call two of them Verti and Pompom! for short. Let's have a naming contest for the little beauties. I know the genus gets a lot of press because of the stinky bloom, but I love my small version, "Konjac" for its beautiful foliage and exotic lily like flower so let's give them positive names.

Ooooh, that's pretty! (I had to google it but I saw all the images with hummers in the pics.) I wonder if it's available anywhere else locally? The ladies at the sale site were so helpful and even brought around a wagon for me to fill up. Of course, I couldn't because DH was with me and he reminded me that we were with friends. They sat and had tea and dessert after our walk through the gardens and I ran over to give a quick look at the sale. I bought one other plant, brought it home, and promptly lost the tag. I probably buried it in the ground... bummer!

Thank you for all the photos. I remember all those areas well and have been wondering how the plants were faring. I was hoping that the paved areas near down town would help hold the heat as it has in the past, but it was just too cold for too long for that to happen. It will be VERY interesting to see what they choose to replant. PLEASE ... keep going and taking pictures to keep us updated. PS: My small flowered orchid tree was undamaged. The large flowered White Brazilian orchid tree came back from the roots as did the Almond verbena tree. CAESALPINIA gillesii "yellow Mexican bird of paradise" and Kidney wood trees were undamaged and blooming now. The mature Satsuma is no more.
