I'm sorry I'm so late in thanking the three lovely ladies who sent me birthday wishes! It has been a busy hot summer here in South Texas. My kiddos have kept me running between summer programs, driver's ed, band camp and volunteer work. On a sad note, my 99 year old grandmama passed away, too. I'll always remember her for her love of all bulbs, especially day lilies and her fantastic green thumb. Love you always, Grandmama... Now for the birthday wishes! Margo sent me a beautiful card with tulips on the front and an update on her garden. Looks like Texas and Ohio have one thing in common this summer for sure -- it's HOT! She sent me packets of seeds - blanket flowers, coneflowers (Sunset), Parcel(celery flavored parsley - can't wait to taste that!) and Shasta Crazy Daizys! Thank you so much, Margo! Margarita10 Sent me a lovely card with a cute teddy bear holding a bouquet. Inside I found a packet of yellow cosmos! Thank you, Margarita10! Canyonwind sent me a card asking me "what do you want to be IF you grow up? LOL - now that's the $10K question! She also sent parsley, borage, Dames Rocket and Southern Bell Hibiscus mix. yay! Hi all, my son hijacked the computer the last couple evenings, but now it's mine!!! Had the dr appt yesterday morning & the dr was guessing it is either sporotrichosis or shingles. We decided it was sporotrichosis and I got a prescription. Late afternoon his office called & said the lab sample showed it was not a fungus. So ... guess it's shingles. However by bedtime my arm wasn't hurting anymore and lump in arm is gone. I'm going to finish off the pills anyway. 12 pills cost $92. So I am determined they are helping me! Just doesn't make sense to me to get shingles exactly where I pulled out stickers from that weed. They said the test results for shingles would take perhaps a week. I thot I'd spend more time reading up on shingles -- like if it could make your whole arm acke... It is a scary thing when you don't know what's going on & something going thru your body and not getting to see a dr for 5 days! Thank you all for thinking of me. But anyway, I'm glad I don't have the swine flu like Dan!!! Very sorry to hear of your misery, Dan. I'm starting a list for my next shopping trip -- chicken soup, chlorox, Sudafed ... And I am happy to report some more bd greetings arrived! Chellflower sent me Colombine Nora Barlow, something on my wish list for a long time! Greatly appreciate it! And from aphroditelaughs -- nigella Mrs Jekyll, Columbine double mix and Poppy mix. Oh it will be fun to plant the poppy mix! Thank you both very much!

Good Morning!

A lovely birthday card and seeds arrived in my little mailbox from Jeanne...sandlapper_rose. She sent Echinacea "White Swan" (love this), Cosmos "Sensations" mix, Zinnia "Exquisite Pink" and so very appropriate, "Sweet Annie", which I have never grown!

Jeanne, thanks so much for the birthday wishes....and a wonderful selection of seeds!

I should have read your post before I planted all my nasturtium seeds! I have a wonderful store called summers past farm that I walk to for exercise and I buy all my seeds there. I just bought a couple of varieties that were really cool, but I planted them all! Maybe I'll have to go walking again during this next week! Have a good birthday month!

I am harvesting seeds from my Johnny Jump Ups just this week. Perfect timing for me to be late, I guess! That's one more seed I can add to the pack that wouldn't have been there had I been on time with birthday wishes. I love it when lateness is justifiable.

I am sorry for being quiet, I knew my life would be this way this summer !! I havent been out to even LOOK at my garden in weeks !!!! I hope to fix that today :)

I have been out of town for several days "goofing off" on the California coast and in Southern Oregon. One thing I do well, is goof off...LOL! I did stop by the Baker Creek seed bank in Petaluma which is North of San Francisco...very cool! The seed bank, like the website, does have a great selection of seeds!

In my mailbox, I found seeds and cards from you lovely ladies!
