I am guessing insects ??? maybe can anyone help me with this problem and what is the best thing to use to fix them ??? thanks !!...See Moreturning a bird of paradise
Comments (1)Yes. I would wait until it cools off though. Try and get as many roots as you can....See Moreorange bird of paradise transplant
Comments (12)We had a very large BOP that had what appeared to be a strangler fig in the middle of it. We tried to kill the fig, but nothing worked. So we had to dig it up and remove the fig. Here it the original plant, about 8 foot across. We divided and gave away a dozen plants. Many roots were sacrificed because we had to yank the plant out of the ground to get the fig. Here it is looking pretty droopy after we replanted it. The individual plants kept falling over, splaying. I got the bright idea of taping the stems together with green duct tape - you know, since the green will blend in and no one will notice! LOL The tape did not damage the plant and eventually 'melted' off in the heat. But it did stabilize the plant in time, so the strips of tees or even some old panty hose will work. Here's the plant now. I did not remove any yellow leaves and waited until they were dry and dead. My thought was that it needed all the leaves for energy until new roots were established. But you can see that it bounced back. I actually like the smaller size better, so that's a nice side effect. I'm sure your plant will be fine! I was in a panic with ours, too....See Morejplee3
