Just wanted to pop in for a quick update.... Baby Talon is doing so good. He had his 7 week birthday yesterday! The nights have been wonderful for about the last 2 weeks.....he's been sleeping for 5,6,& 7 hour stretches! Our days are crazy though. No schedule whatsoever and you never know what kind of mood he will be in. I'm getting lots more smiles & "happy time" though. : ) And yesterday he grabbed his soft little teddy for the first time and stuck it in his mouth!! lol The house is coming along....only one more thing to do before we can have the framing inspection done. We are waiting for our interior steps to be delivered...supposed to be at the end of the week. Once DH has them installed we'll be ready to go. Here is Talon's new tub.... I can't wait 'till he's swimming in there! ; ) DH's plan is to start bricking the house. We have concrete scheduled to come Saturday to do the two back porches. They need done before brickwork can start. We'll have HVAC and hopefully the electrician & plumber start work inside. I say hopefully 'cause DH keeps saying he's going to do the elec. & plumbing himself. I must put my foot down. Sure hope I can talk him into hiring someone or else we may never move in! It is a bit of an adjustment, just being a regular associate, after 6 years of being a manager. But, I LIKE IT!!! ,No doors to unlock, and packages to sign in, no paperwork to do constantly, no decisions to be made, no deadlines to meet, no keeping an eye on all of the workers and making sure they are doing their jobs, no reprimmands to give out, no having to make grouchy customers happy. I get to turn all of that over to one of the managers. AND, no more 55-60 hours a week away from home. YIPPEE!!! So, I get to be home and work in my gardens, and do crafts. I will actually get to use the thousands of craft items and fabrics in my sewing/craft room now. I am soooo happy. It is going to be a big adjustment for all of the other managers as well. While I was working yesterday, the manager on duty was on the phone, and the back door rang for a delivery, she looked at me, and i just smiled and shrugged my shoulders, "NO KEYS". After she got off the phone and brought in the delivery, she came back out and grinned at me and said "You are really gonna be a pain in the a** aren't you?" I just grinned back and said "Who Me?" Yes, I am definitely gonna like being a part timer instead of a manager. Well, best get moving, gotta start dinner. Well, I've been watching a lot of Food Network this morning and they seem to be making lots of dishes with garlic. Since it's so close to Halloween I wondered how the whole garlic and vampire thing came into being. Some people believe that the association of garlic warding off vampires has to do with bug or animal bites. One is rabies. You can get rabies from any animal bite from an animal that has rabies. Remember Cujo (Stephen King) getting rabies from the bat? Anyway, I guess if you have rabies you become fixated on certain scents. One of them being garlic. Another theory is that of mosquito bites. Since mosquitos suck blood, they fly and can be warded off be garlic, it's not a difficult jump to vampires (if you have a vivid imagination.) Anyway, here's a little more info!
