new: Color of the month for May - Yellow!

The color for the month swap for May is YELLOW. We will need at least 5 people to sign up for this swap to go forward. POST HERE if you would like to participate. I will send out my address after there are at least 5 responders.

DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP: MAY 5

DEADLINE FOR SENDING SEEDS: MAY 12

You may include seeds that produce YELLOW flowers, foliage, fruits, or vegetables, or just have the word "YELLOW" in their names! There are lots of annual flowers that are YELLOW, so try to include some of these if possible, so they can be planted out for summer color.

You may send edible and non-edible seeds.

(Please specify what you would like back: edible, non-edibles, or a mix of both)

I will do my best to fill your request, but it all depends on what is sent in!

Absolutely NO Invasive Plants or Noxious Weeds!!!!

Please send seeds no older than 2 years old.

Please include on the packet label: the seed's name, a little blurb about it, and whether your seeds are from a commercial source or hand-collected.

The limit for all of the color swaps is 10 packs, but please feel free to send in extras. These will be counted as bonus packs and I will try to send bonuses back to those who send them in. You can send in as little as 1 pack of seeds, there is no minimum to send in.

Please send in the number of seeds that you would be comfortable receiving yourself depending on the variety. There should be a minimum of 10 seeds per pack.

Please send only 1 pack per variety. Again, you may send more than one pack of a certain variety, but please know that they will be counted as 'extras'. So each variety will be counted as one trade.

Bonnie - I mailed your seeds today. When I had them weighed at the post office, the postal clerk told me that there was a bar code across the bottom - I never saw it so I don't think it was too obvious - and he said that bar code would be picked up rather than the zip code if it stayed on there so he scratched through it with something that looked like a thick black crayon. He said it did no good to cross it off with a marker - that the equipment would read right through the marker. Anyway, I am posting all this because I wonder if that is why your envelope took nearly a month to get here. I know lots of us reuse envelopes so I thought I would pass this along. If you see a bar code, cover it with a label or cover it completely by using a black crayon or china marker (postal employee said that --- I don't even know what a china marker is...LOL) I hope you like the seeds, Bonnie, and now that they are mailed, this swap is complete! Hello All; I received two packages yesterday but did not get the chance to play with either until today. Jan sent a bunch of gladiola bulbs in really exotic colors. I love glads but did not used to plant them because they are not hardy here and need to be dug up in the fall which I do, but they never survive the winter. I know that is my fault but it is still frustrating. But I digress, my new beau loves gladioulas and has been bugging me to plant them. What I want to know is did he contact you Jan? Well they went in the ground today and I can't wait for them to bloom. Then there was the gel notebook, really neat and unusual and also a wonderful windchime. I am embarassed to say that I believe there were more things in both of these packages but I opened them late last night and put the food stuff away and can't remember all that was in them. I think there was some chocolate and coffee things but my mind is like scrambled eggs today. Ellie sent some neat plants, gardening gloves and once again, who knows what else. I planted everything today and I am very excited about the obedient plant. I do not have one and thought I should so it was a great addition to my gardens. Then the Artemisia (which I cannot even pronounce) is going to be wonderful when I put my flowers together in vases this year. Both sent wonderful notes which is the greatest part of this and I wish we were all closer so we could get together. For those of you who have not yet had their "birthday month", it is a great thing. The boxes come when they feel like it and they have all kinds of things from all over the country. It is funny how excited I get about these thoughtful gifts. Thank you all for the wonderful month. I wish I was a May person to have this happen every year. I sent Jan's info to everyone, if there is anyone who did not get it, let me know. I hope you have half as much fun as I did Jan, and thank you for your gifts. I received my wonderful box from Margaret this week having received my red shrimp plant a couple weeks before. Poor box - he was in "priority" mail for 6-7 days! Becky, I LOVE yellow!!! As a matter of fact, I hosted this swap last year, LOL! I am thinking about joining, but am up to my ears in pepper seeds right now. If I can get the Pick-A-Peck of Peppers Swap wrapped up in time, I'll be back to sign up.

Hi Becky, sorry I haven't got back here till now! I finally finished the pepper swap, but spent so much time playing with pepper seeds, that I am behind on getting my garden in now. I just rented a plot at the community garden, and it will take a few days to get everything planted there, plus the one at home isn't done either, so I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get my package out on time.

Hope everyone ends up with some cool new yellow things to plant!

I was out of town the last two days and Suzanne's packet was here when I got home. I do not have seeds from dcj24 and have sent an e-mail to her to be sure she isn't sending any. I have everyone's packets ready to mail and(unless I hear back from dcj24 tonight) I plan to mail them tomorrow. I will confirm that after I have taken them to the post office!

Yellow swap seeds are on their way home. Terry, envelopes were already packed before you posted, but I don't know that there were any wildflowers anyway.

I received my seeds yesterday though I just discovered them today. I was so busy yesterday that I forgot to check the mail box! Thank you so much for such a great selection of seeds. Hi everyone! Yes, there will definitely be a Blue Seed Swap! I love the color blue. I am waiting on a reply from the scheduled hostess. If they can't host, then I am the sub hostess. The swap will be posted by Saturday/Sunday at the very latest so keep a look out for it.
