Hi ya'll...I'm sorry I've been "awayish" a lot lately and been so swamped with things I haven't even paid attention to my email til a couple days ago...hope all are doing well and I will get my package in the mail by Wednesday ...please forgive me for being late and sluggish!! i kow we all don't like slugs lol

I got my box from shirley today in the mail...it was full of nice surpises....including a dimension lily, a centerfold lily, and some kiind of beautiful plant that has purple and lemonish colored leaves....i'm assuming it is a kind of perilla or coleus maybe???...i got a pot that i either plan to put the pretty mystery plant in or the dimension lilly in and a pretty garden pillow...can't forget the seeds...there is a pack of wild flax saphyr. achillea millefollum rubra, oreiental poppy billiant red, and echinacea purple coneflower....

Thanks Shirley for an awesome package!!! ...now gonna go plant those lilies lol

Good Morning Goddesses!!!! Another beautiful summer day here in North Carolina! (we skipped spring) High 80s in the forcast for today! My TBIris are getting buds (many are already blooming in the area, but mine are right on schedule for this time of year! The spirea and lilac are blooming and the daffies are winding down! All of my veggies are up and waiting to be moved into the garden Life is good! Has anyone heard from Treasa, we haven't heard from her since she signed up! Theresa best wishes for your upcoming proceedure! I think we are all eager to learn how it goes! I will not be participating in the swap, unfortunately we have had a bit of a setback, it is going to leave us on a very tight budget for awhile. (it could have been much worse) Maybe a long while, I hopw you will all understand, it could be some time before I am able to swap again. But no worries, this swap is still on! I am going to e-mail Treasa and see if she is still participating. Any last minute participants will have until the end of the day to sign up and send me their goddess info! Hi All, It was snowing on my way home from work today: ( Spring really in at a stand still. I think we are going to jump straight into summer, lol. Laura, I had to work on Easter. I kept joking that we were scheduled to work because management decided we were the heathens. I did have a nice Good Friday though. I went to the Broadway Market with my sister-in-law and her kids. It is an old Polish tradition to go there for foods like homemade candy and baked goods, see the easter bunny, buy Polish pottery and so on. It was packed as it always is pre-Easter. It is is a strange place because the whole neighborhood is now a ghetto, but the Broadway Market is still there. I could hardly carry out all the stuff I bought! I did buy two pretty Easter planters for my relatives that were in the hospital and I stopped to see them on the way home. Maryanne, I sure hope your testing went good. I've never had to do that for a job. Though this one I did have to do a drug test. Beth, Glad to hear most of the flowers survived. The winter aconites you sent me are still blooming! They are very cheery looking. They multiply don't they? Susan, I'm glad you are getting your family into shape. I know how it is. I'm afraid to leave Gary home alone for more than 2 days, lol. I'm sure hoping your brother will be ok. My cousin had to have her brain operated on for tumors about 2 years ago now, and she is doing good, so it is possible : ) Susann, I've not bought from them. I have bought from Forest Farm for odd items, so I can recommend them for that. They also have search by needs on their website. I'll put the link below. Hi Shirley and Family, Pack your bags for your vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC. You will be staying at the Myrtle Beach Resort condos (2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, queen sleeper sofa and balcony facing the beach.) ROSE CHAMPION will be at the desk to check you in for your week vacation. AMBER MIST (coneflower) will be available for anything you need in your condo. The Resort is beautifully landscaped with lots of daylilies, HEADY WINE, SMALL GESTURE, LUCKY DRAW (which has a very big red eye) and WATCHYL LAVENDER BLUE, planted in lots of beds. One shade bed had TOAD LILIES blooming, even though they are small they make a statement. One bed was full of COLUMBINES blooming in all colors. Enclosing a Grand Strand coupons and map of Myrtle Beach. Also a magnet for your refrigerator to remind you of this trip. Also a keychain with sand from beach on inside. Myrtle Beach guide with coupons inside as there are lots to do at the beach. Many places to eat, lots of golf courses, great shopping, water sports, flea markets and theaters for entertainment. I received a great box from Heidi. She made two adorable angel ornaments that are now on my tree. She also included a mix of candy and several packages of seeds. These all came inside a cute holiday box. Heidi also made a card with a poem she wrote inside. I want to share it with everyone. She is a very clever writer. It read Winter Soltice Twas the night before Winter solstice and all through the garden The air was quite cold, the ground starting to harden I had just sat down to a nice cup of tea To look through the seeds I had gotten for free When out on the lawn, there arouse such a clatter I jumped from my chair to see what was the matter The snowflakes were fallin' the wind was a blowin' "My winter sowing containers!!" down the street they were goin I threw on my boots, took off at a run I could already see this was not gonna be fun I collected the containers and tied them up tight So much for seed sorting on this crazy night I put on my PJ's and snuggled to bed While visions of winter sown flowers danced in my head I swear I heard my husband snore as I drifted off to sleep "Happy Winter solstice to all, and don't plant your seeds too deep" Thank you Heidi, I really enjoyed my box and it did bring a smile to my face. I have a new way of logging on and it's working! Hooray! We'll see how long this goes before it messes up. What optimism - right?

My package from Sue arrived and it's wonderful! She sent garden gloves, gardenia scented sachets, seeds (zinnias which look lovely and seem to grow well for me), and two types of canna tubers. I really like cannas and need to look these up. I'll be sure to get them planted tomorrow.
Thanks so much, Sue. Very thoughtful choices and I love how you decorated the package.

I can't believe I have answers right from your "quiz", Annie. Totally guesses I assure you. Even though I can now type into the GardenWeb message box, it's getting late so I think I will try to answer the remaining questions tomorrow. My brain is saying "it's time for bed."

FINALLY!!!! I am on here. I have been able to see what is going on but not able to respond.

THANK you for the birthday wishes!

I sent Margo's box this morning. I have DC# if you want it. So sorry, Margo, for being so slow, but I hope that I made up for it with what I sent.

Margaret, I DID receive your wonderful gifts!
-a nice Ziploc bagful of peat disks that expand when you place them in hot water. I have been starting veggies in them and am having great luck with the plants.
-a box of dwarf-mixed zinnias
-Remy's seeds from the Sample Seed Shop came the same day as your gifts. I received pkts. of dahlia-sized red zinnia seeds. These were Dad's favorite flower. I will be planting tons of zinnias this year.
-pruning shears....I love these. I will try to keep track of these. :)
-pair of pretty gardening gloves.
-a rock with the name Shelby on it.
-a HUGE Symphony chocolate bar!

Sorry to have waited to post my package from MaryEllen. I received a wonderful package of goodies. She went well beyond what was required and I am thrilled with it all.

She started with a note written on a notecard with a picture she took herself of what I think were hen and chicks. In her package I found,

Sue-I have all the daylilies planted and boy are we getting some rain. It rained yesterday, raining today and they say it will rain Monday and Tuesday. I will be so far behind by Wed. I guess I will have to take a vacation day from work to get caught up.

Hi ya'll...just a quick note to let ya'll know I'm still here and will be mailing Michelle's package out tomorrow...i'm sorry i'm so far behind on it...things keep popping up unexpectedly and i keep getting sidetracked and haven't been checking my email a lot lately or the garden sites i'm involved with a lot lately...have logged facebook maybe twice in the last 2 weeks i think and really only long enough to check on my kids then i think (as i keep up with them that way when they're away from home and can't get cell phone service at their friends houses)...the other online game i play regularly got put in "babysitter" mode for someone else to play for me ....so i'm not ignoring ya'll!!!! i just haven't had time to make it online a lot lately...i promise i haven't forgot michelle's package!!!...thanks ya'll for being patient with me, hope all are doing well, Dianne

i know....i just feel bad when i'm late and this time i think i'm later than i have been before...lol i love you more every time we trade michelle hahahaha...thanks for being so patient and understanding with me....i will get it out today and for some reason if i don't make it to the po by the time it closes (11am on thursdays and saturdays here) i'll definitely get it out tomorrow...oh and i didn't mean that "love" in a funny sort of way either hahahhahaa...i just meant that i am starting to feel like we could be buds if we were living closer...your patience with me and my trades has become a blessing to me and seems your personality balances mine in a way as i get high strung sometimes and you always seem relaxed and laid back lol

hope all are having a good morning so far ...i plan on cleaning my house today after i get michelle's package out in the mail if noone calls me to jump and run again...it's been raining a bit much and can't really do much outside til it dries up a bit

I awoke this morning with a terrbile headache and sore throat. I think I have some sinus and allergy issues going on. I called in sick and NEVER do that. I did tell them I would try to be there this afternoon. I checked the medicine cabinet and could not find anything to take. Of course most meds make you sleepy anyway so that won't work.

I helped plant our pink flowers for the Garden of Hope flower bed in town yesterday and it looks so good. The garden club is doing another bed in red, white and blue.
We get so many compliments for our gardens and it feels good when folks stop and think to do this.

I got Michelle's bubbly mailed out today...should reach her by Monday they told me...tracking # is 9500 6262 3123 4133 32..all 3 vehicles here at home are broke down now and hubby is on the only 1 that run with his job away from home...borrowed a friend's car to get it to the po :) ...thank God for friends and when I say friends i'm including ya'll :))...it's raining here so can't do much outdoors ...time to super clean my house i guess ...hope all have a great weekend and again i'm sorry i delayed this trade...blessings to all, Dianne
