OH NO--RRD Part 2 (more pics)
Comments (14)Thanks everybody. I really am just freaking out here. It looks like you are all agreeing on a reprieve. Like I mentioned before, I missed the first infection and it got to be very, very obvious, so I'm hypervigilant at the moment. I was ready to tear all these bushes out earlier tonight! I'm going to cut off all the weird candelabras (except on Pink Pet) and watch. Spider Mites are possible--they are always a problem here. I can usually see a brown speck or two in the flower when I have thrips. I haven't tried the paper test, but will tomorrow. A few RMV questions--this is the first sign on this rose at year 5 of growth. I was under the impression that RMV was either there from the start, or not--in other words not contagious. Wouldn't this mean I bought it with RMV? Should I contact the vendor? I bought all my Belinda's Dream shrubs at once, so will the others be likely to have it eventually? Finally, is RMV systemic, meaning that pruning off the affected canes will do no good? I am really, really grateful for all of you tonight. I can't say how depressed I was earlier. Thank you!...See MorePics - Part 2
Comments (9)Wow Julia, you sure do have some pretty stuff! And look at all the buds in the pics too...lots to look forward to as well! I really like the red/yellow blooms for a backdrop in your DL pics as well...that has to look wonderful in person! My favorite of the group was PEARL HARBOR, but I would love to hear how SECOND THOUGHTS does for you a little later in the season. It is such a lovely color! Thank you for sharing! Comments (6)Thanks y'all. You guys are right, it's gaillardia. I can never remember that! I bought it before I knew it wasn't hardy like the other kind, but I've enjoyed it. Helen, no St. Francis isn't heavy at all. He's hollow plaster. I think I got him at Big Lots, but I can assure you he was cheap because I just don't spend a lot of money on garden art. There's a Cheshire Cat I want so badly at Wickman's in Spfd but can't bring myself to pay the $100 for him....See MorePart 2, sofa, chairs & fabric choices! *New Pic's*
Comments (19)Nice choices, tinker. Did you ask about doing some other leg, or something to eliminate the wheels on the couch? I don't care for the look of that, either. Can't wait too see how this all comes together. I think doing the couch and two chairs will prove to be a great choice for you. As for the floor plan, as I mentioned on the other thread, I think in part it depends on whether you are putting a tv above the fireplace. I like the second and third layouts, guess it depends if you want to have that extra accent chair. You might also try the two chairs on one side, couch opposite them (I would likely put the couch on the left side of the fireplace, so you don't have the feeling of a wall as you come into the room on the right. One other choice with just the two chairs would be to put the couch on the left, one chair on the right with its back to the counter, a table on the corner, and the other chair at a right angle to that, facing the couch. I might open up the seating area a bit....See Morejo_pyeweed (z9 SF Bay Area)
